24 hours - Space Coast or Orlando?

We're going to have roughly 24 hours after a cruise out of Port Canaveral before our flight leaves. I would love for our DD's, ages 6 and 3 to see part of WDW but we'll have from about 9 or 10am one day to noon or so the following day, so I don't know that park tickets make sense. For those that have visited the Space Coast, do you think it was worth it or would we enjoy Orlando more? If Orlando would be better what attractions would be good with young kids?

Well I am all for going straight to the Magic Kingdom. Especially if the park is open to at least 9 or 10 pm. (Might not be worth it if you get there at noon and the park closes at 6 or 7). You will have to rent a car, obviously, but I have rented a car for a day after a cruise, and was able to get one for like $ 35 including tax. Make sure you pick up at cruise terminal and drop off at mco. Stay onsite if your budget allows. Then try for an early character breakfast the next morning before your trip to the airport.

I think the space center might not interest the 3 yr old too much...and maybe even the 6 yr old.
Just my 2 cents... :)

5 years ago DH and I went on a cruise with my family out of Port Canaveral. We went to Universal for the day. I don't 100% remember how we got there (LOL) but we got rooms off-site and flew back the next day. I agree with WDW over the Space Coast. I've never been to Kennedy, but have heard it's pretty boring for young kids.
