24 hours [& I don't mean the TV show]

Hooray Philaround.

Those first few days are the hardest and it sounds like you are doing a great job. Keep it up. Nonsmoking room here you come.:Pinkbounc

BTW, Happy 29th Anniversary.:bounce:

72 hours and still smoke free.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can............

You GO philaround!!!!!!! 72 hours is MOST impressive. Keep at it, you're doing great.

I think you can, I think you can, I think you can. ;)

I didn't get a chance to update last night. I am now at 4 1/2 days and still not smoking.

Thanks to all for your continued support and thank you to the pharmacutical industry for the Zyban and the Comitt lozenge.
I had tried to quit before [without Zyban] using the gum and the patch but had problems with both of those nicotine delivery systems but I am getting by on 6 lozenges a day. With a recommended starting dosage of 9 lozenges a day and a max usage of 20 a day I am thrilled that I can get by on 6 a day.

I leave for WDW in Saturday, driving down I95. I hope that road doesn't put a cigarette back between my lips. LOL

My DW will be with me all the way [she quit almost 25 years ago] and I'm sure that with her help I will make it.

Phil, you are doing great! Keep up the good work.

That sounds wonderful Phil!!! Way to go!!! Just keep dreaming of Disney and it will hopefully keep your mind off of anything else. I look forward to seeing you next week :)

Way to go, Phil!! I'm so proud of you!!

My father finally quit smoking a couple years ago (he's late 50's and been smoking since he was a teen) after a serious health scare. He struggled so many times throughout his life to quit.

I'm routing for you all the way!! Keep up the most excellent work!

You rock, Phil!

For the ride down, have your wife roll up a newspaper and if you get the urge to smoke, she should whap you in the back of your head... sort of like Pavlov's dog... make you associate smoking with pain instead of pleasure. ;)

I'm proud of you! Wait til you see how good your clothes smell without cigarettes. You'll never want to go back!

Happy anniversary to you and your DW!

WOW!! That is wonderful!!! Be prepared if you have a dog, though... Since I quit mine smells much worse than I thought he did!!:D :D :D

Ya gotta figure once you make it until you get to WDW, it should be really easy there. Plenty distracted!! Then AFTER that, just be cheap like me and refuse to shell out that four or five bucks!

Keep it up and keep us posted!!!!

I made it to 6 days without a cigarette. Me & DW hit the road in about 36 hours. Mickey here we come.

i understand how you feel like your always counting down!! it's been a month for me and i still an counting down.... feels good huh?
you are doing an awesome job!

but you seem the kind of fellow that will succeed!

It only took me 40 years Kiddo. I started smoking when I was 16 and turned 56 last December.

Good job!! I was thinking about you!!!

Well I made it through my first week. Leaving for Florida in about 10 hours. I'll be gone for 16 days so I won't be posting until 6/9.

Well we are back from DW and I am still not smoking. Had some problems with people smoking in unauthorized areas [mostly at USF and Seaworld but once or twice in the MK]
The worst was USF. I saw 4 people walking in a group all smoking. At least 6 differant USF staffers saw them and did not say a word to them. For a few seconds I thought one was going to do something. When the group passed him he turned in thier direction and took a step toward them but then turned and walked off in the opposite direction.
I quess they just don't want to confront these people.

I just can't understand why people do this. I have only been a non smoker for a little over three weeks but I know that I would never smoke anywhere that was posted non smoking and if there was no sign specifying one way or the other I would always ask before lighting up.

Now I know why all smokers are given dirty looks by non smokers. Most non smokers just automatically assume you are in a non smoking area because you will always find some smokers lighting up in the wrong place.

I did wander into some authorized smoking areas in error [Disney's signs are very small and hard to see], but everytime I smelled smoke I first looked for a sign and if I saw one I just moved out of the area. No problem, after all I was in thier territory. But I was getting very upset about having to change my direction of travel because some were smoking in smoke free areas.

Oh well, end of sermon.

I hope to be posting my trip report this coming weekend

UPDATE

7 weeks and still not smoking

That's GREAT! Do you feel different? It's getting easier, right? Do you have a dog? Doesn't the dog smell so much worse that he used to?????:teeth:

Now just make up your mind that you'r enot gonna shell out 4 bucks for a pack!!
