I know Disneyland did a 24 hour event to kick off the 60th. I thought I read somewhere that Disneyland has a 24 hour event every year? Is this right?

If not, do you think they will do a 24 hour event for the 75th?

They didn't do one this year. Maybe last year too.

I think if they were going to do one in 2016 it would have been on Feb 29th. If next summer has a theme, I think that's the next time they'd possibly do it, but who knows what construction will be like then. I doubt we'll ever see a whole park event like that again when they can charge extra for after hours parties instead.

I think they did 2. Then 2 years without. It was a mad house with bad press. Not sure they'll do one again.

2015 - at the start of the 60th anniversary was the last time they had the 24 hour event.

That's disappointing. I know the parks were very crowded the morning it opened, but the crowds died down a lot after midnight.

I sincerely hope the never do another 24 hour event. I was there for the 60th. It wasn't too bad if you got there at rope drop like I did, but leaving around midnight, there was still a huge line to get in because they hit capacity (huge as in, all the way back to DLH). I felt so bad for the CMs. It was a madhouse. The only way I could see them doing it again after that mess would be with a special ticketed event to help with crowd control.

They've only done four 24-hour events recently (2012 for Leap Day and then as the kick-off to the summer in 2013, 2014, and 2015). I went to the events in 2014 and 2015 and they were very different. The 2015 event also happened to be the kick-off to the 60th Anniversary Celebration and it's when the debuted PtN, Disneyland: Forever, and WoC: Celebrate. It was really weird inside DL; the parade route was jammed pack, but the other areas in the park didn't feel that much busier than during the summer. The lines outside of the parks were crazed, but it didn't really translate to huge crowds inside DL except along the parade route. After the second parade finished and towards the wee hours of the night, inside DL was actually pretty empty. However, they didn't allow new guests into DL, so there were still long lines outside of the park. The event in 2014 was decidedly low key (after the initial rush in the morning and then again in the late-afternoon/early evening) compared to 2015.

I also kind of doubt they'll do another 24-hour event in the near future, but by the 75th Anniversary, who knows what they'll have planned. Much of the management will probably have changed over, so maybe they'll have forgotten the difficulties of the 60th Anniversary 24-hour event and try another one!
