Yesterday I did some packing - and then again earlier today.. Some of the totes were pretty heavy and I think I might have "hurt" something, but I don't know what it is.. I've got this very bad "aching" - just below my rib cage - on the right front (not "side").. Doesn't feel like a muscle type pain - more like one of the organs located in that area..

Could I have banged something into that area and "bruised" something but not felt it until just a little while ago? Is there anything located in that area that I should be concerned about? I probably should have mentioned it to my Dson-in-law while he was here, but I didn't..

I'm sitting here trying to ignore it, but it's a constant, steady ache..:confused3

I'm hoping that I'll just go to sleep tonight - maybe turn in early - and it will be gone in the morning..

It WILL be gone in the morning - right?? :scared:

Do you have any nausea or indigestion? Your gall bladder is right there in the upper right side of your belly, right near the bottom of your ribs. It's kind of tucked into your liver.

Hopefully you just banged it while moving and you'll feel better soon!

Does it feel at all like heartburn? Or is it more of a pain like someone punched you in the arm or something really hard.

I've had nausea all week long - but I don't have it right now..:confused3

I think I'm going to go to bed.. It's just too uncomfortable for me to stay sitting up..

I was thinking the gallbladder too.

I would just take some advil before bed, hopefully it'll be gone by morning. You might have a bruise the tomorrow.

That's what I was thinking. Your gallbladder is on the right side just under your ribs. When I had gallbladder attacks, it was more of a sharp pain that would be there for a few hours and then go away. Apparently, my attacks were very minor. Some people get very severe pain that doesn't go away so quickly.

If you still have the pain in the morning, I would suggest having it checked out. It might just be a muscle strain like you said, but it's worth having it checked out so close to a trip. Good luck and hope you feel better.:)

My guess would be some kind of muscle strain. Gallbladder attacks are usually brought on after eating meals. If I recall C.Ann hardly eats to begin with so eating the kind of foods that would precipitate a gallbladder attack would be pretty slim.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think we all get unexplained pains here and there that go away as quickly as they appear.

Hopefully it's something simple like you over worked yourself packing. I'd take some pain meds and try to get a good night's rest. Take care

My money's on the gall bladder.

Mine too. I get this a lot. Had it checked. Is gall bladder but nothing serious. Nothing they will do for it right now as it's just flare ups (too much fatty food in a short time etc). Still have it checked asap just in case.

Might be muscle..but does sound as if GB is indeed a possibilty:confused3
My GB pain was a little more in the center tho...and it niggled for 2 years at least before it became bad enough to have away with it!!!

Hope you feel better:sick:

Pain in that area plus accompanying nausea could be gall bladder. Also could be cardiac related, although that is somewhat less likely. Although women do not always present with the "classic" cardiac symptoms. Also could be GI related in another way besides gall bladder. If you are no better today, I'd probably get checked out.

Go to the doctor!

True story- a few weeks ago I was traveling for work and thought I had the "flu". Kept going all week despite nausea and pain until I finally came home a day early (after being badgered by DH that he thought it didn't sound like a flu).

DH took me to the ER (despite my protests) and I had a bursting appendix. I had emergency surgery and am fine, but was a scary situation. Glad I didn't wait any longer than I did.

Go get it checked out. Better safe than sorry!!!

C.Ann, hope you had a restful night and are feeling better today.
