...

Yeah... Hmm... Maybe you can watch for sales at places like Michael's, Joann's, and Hobby Lobby. I know for a fact they sell fabric petals in their wedding sections. And Michael's always has coupons! Usually 40% off. You just won't have the color selection that a preserver like FlyboyNaturals offers. But then, you want pink still yes? A very popular color! :goodvibes

OMG I just can't belive I need over 200 cups of roses. EEEK!:scared1:

It seems Disney's prices might not be so bad...Eric will not be happy. UGH.

Hehe, flowers are always expensive! And they know brides will buy the petals, so they keep the prices up. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya! :rotfl:

Well, off to bed! I have to go a field trip tomorrow for class... wasting my Sunday! Enjoy working and not vacationing! :rotfl:

Edit: And if you go with wider runner option (6.5 ft wide) you only need 108 cups of flowers! ;) That saves money!

I agree...wider runner, less petals so you save some money. :goodvibes

Edit: Oh, and if it really is true, and there is a 40% off coupon for Michaels somewhere out there...I say we just buy another box of the invites to fix our stupid mistake! Geez, I'll buy them to keep us from having to cut the paper correctly!!

What did you originally think the floral BEO price was going to be?

You've already cut it down a lot so that's great!

We could do that or my boss has a scrapbooking tool that rounds the edges...

My problem is I can't find a wider runner! I have googled everything!

Lol you know, I'm not sure but if we are staying at $13,000 then $4800 seems high. Eric said we just have to wait until the rest of the BEO comes before we decided what to do.

WoW thats one heck of a floral BEO! lol I have to tell you that i do love the bouquet you went with!

And i wonder if i could get the same favors in animal print delievered to BOMA for our dinner...hmmmmm... you've given me some good ideas my darlin!

Enjoy your the rest of your vacation!

OK Silly question...Do you have to use ALL rose petals down the aisle? I want to do this but I'm throwing the idea out there...Why not do some rose petals and some carnation petals or some other less expensive flower petal? Are people going to really notice ALL of the petals?
I think they will notice the texture that the petals create, but they won't see all of the petals...am I making sense? I'm thinking about doing this for mine b/c I'm pretty sure DF will have a cow if I spent $300 on flower petals for the short time it takes to get the ceremony done...

Have fun at the Grand Canyon!

Have you considered not having a runner and petals? The carpet is green and pink isn't it? Wouldn't it kind of coordinate with your color scheme??? I don't really understand the need for the runner.

Also, I know you are going with a different feel for the reception, but have you considered what the green/orange/pink/black colors are going to look like?

The green and orange look good together, but when you add in the black and then the pink (from your bouquet and the cake), then it starts to clash. You could just change the orange napkins and possibly the black (I'd go with ivory). JMO though.

The ears are a cute idea (I loved it when lurkyloo did it), but I would cut it. The chocolate isn't a bad price (I have made chocolate candies in the past and it's not hard, so you could always do it yourself for less).

Have a great trip! Oh, I wouldn't cut the rose petal exit, but that's because I love those pics too! I don't think it's something that boys can understand. If you think about, $400 for petals that are going to just sit on the ground for 1/2 an hour is no great deal either, but I find it's like that with a lot of wedding stuff. They know people will pay the $.

Could you go lighter on the aisle petals, like maybe do $300 for the aisle, and $100 for the toss and then you're still spending the same amount as cutting the petal toss. I think $400 would probably be for really thick coverage along the sides of the aisle anyway, so you could probably cut that down a little and get the same effect. You could also just order freeze dried for the toss and that could save you some $ too.

Yea, once upon a time I had dreams of doing Mickey ear favors too...then I saw the price!

mickey chocolates with animal prints!!??!! That sounds fantastic...please don't cut those!!

I think my first reaction would be to cut the mickey hats (which I think you said you are doing). Not everyone will appreciate them enough (most likely anyway).

Just a peice of advice regarding the petals and the runner: when you're cutting things from your BEO think carefully about how much joy you will get from them. Its easy to loose all sense of realative worth when you're looking at a huge expendature, but when you break down the elements, make sure they're worth the case. What I mean is, will an asile runner really make you $260 worth of happy? Sure its a minor part of the expenditure over all, but its a chunk of change. For $260 I could buy a great coat or a really well made bag that I would use for several years. Is the asile runner worth that to you? I guess what I'm trying (awkwardly) to say is to pull it out of the context of the wedding to decide what is and isn't worth it to you. Honestly, I think the colored linens and the lanterns are well worth it because the look and feel will be so enhanced by them. $6 favors? Eh, not so much. Mostly becuase I don't think the guests will get more pleasure out of a animal print chocolate mickey head than they would out of delicious peiece of godiva in a little box.

I'm not going with an aisle runner or petals at the WP as your only in there 20 minutes and I doubt I'll be looking at the floor!

I agree. I would wait to see what your entire BEO is before you start cutting. Your regular BEO might not be as bad as you think. Maybe you can cut other areas as well to keep things like your aisle runner.

I completely agree.

You said before that you want to start a family (maybe on the honeymoon), buy a house, and you need to buy a new car. That $260 could go towards that. I think you can have a fabulous wedding, but you don't need to have a lot of the extra stuff. It's probable that your guests won't even notice a lot of it.

Do you know when you will be getting the other BEO? I always thought it came before the floral. It might not be that bad.

I've just read through a few pages, and I'm trying to remember everything I want to say, but chances are I'm going to miss a few things.

1 - I didn't know you had to pay for personalisation of mickey ears at WDW! At DLR the personalisation is free!

2 - I hate favours, not going to worry about them, because I can't think of a wedding that I've been to where someone has commented on how much they liked the favours, and that the majority of them weren't left behind on the tables.

3 - I'm in the minority, and I actually like the carpet in the wedding pavilion... I might consider putting petals down the side of the aisle, but when it comes down to it, I'll cut them without a 2nd thought.

There was other stuff... I'm sure it will come to me...
