...

I know you are on Etsy. I am too since I have a shop on there. :lmao:

Did you ever see this seller's toppers?

I think she can custom design them. Maybe you can make the groom a giraffe and the bride an elephant?

They are very different cake toppers for sure.

Same thing happened when I googled "elephant wedding cake topper." Look at this crazy cake. It doesn't even look like a wedding cake to me.
ElephantWeddingCake.3.jpg

I think that's gorgeous!! :rotfl: Originally I wanted just a "normalish" bride and groom cake topper on top of suit cases for our wedding, because we were doing so much travelling. I've changed my mind since, but still think it looks great!

Personally I think you might want a plainer cake topper.

I think your cake is so wild, (haha only noticed the pun as I was typing) that if added more animal prints to it, they could push it over the top with too many prints.

The white one, with the giraffe bride, as petrfying as that is to me (I have a HUGE fear of people that are half animal/vice versa) I think white might be better, and complment the cake better, and stand out more.

I also think the elephant cake is super cute. I like to imagine it was for a couple who were going on a big trip for their honeymoon, maybe to india or sri lanka or somewhere for a month or two. :) In that case I think the luggage and elephants work perfectly.

You guys actually like that elephant monstrosity that I posted? Y'all are nuts! :rotfl: I guess it's just not my style. LOL

Amanda, I think you and your mom need to go to compulsive earring buyers anonymous. ;)

I can't wait to see which ones you decide on. Have you decided if you're wearing a necklace or not?

The half giraffe bride might give me nightmares...:rotfl:

That is scary!!
I don't like the elephant cake, but it does have hidden mickeys:3dglasses

I was thinking about this yesterday actually. Personally I like the picture the way it is, with the white flower on top, but Df wants a cake topper so I was trying to compromise. It is a bit much...

So you showed him the picture I found? Does he like it? I must know! :rotfl: I think if you found simple, white figurines, like these doves, they would look cute nestled into the white flowers on top of the cake. So they are there, but not overpowering.

Edit: Found something cooler. TURTLE! And elephant. ;)

Hehehehehehe. ;)

Since I'm bored I was looking at wedding cakes.

Here's another animal one I found -

Another outdoorsy idea instead of animal print would be something like a cherry blossom cake. And you can make the ribbon and blossoms any color you wanted.

And Eric likes video games, right? How about a Nintendo grooms cake? LOL

Ok, I'm all caught up! I don't typically look at PJ's so this is a fun thread to poke through. Well fun most of the time, yikes!

I have tried on several veils and while I liked the cathedral length, once I put it together it just wasn't me. I definitely liked the birdcage the best and I am sure Eric will be fine with it.

There have been several comments about how I am going to dissapoint Eric...I guess I don't get it. While I don't think my dress is what he imagined, I don't think he will be dissapointed...by that or my choice of accessories. Did other people have grooms that were dissapointed in their choices?:confused3

I can't imagine! The groom is just looking at YOU! I love your dress, but all that matters is that YOU do and you feel good in it. My DH was far more interested in what shoes I was wearing than the actual dress but that's a whole other subject!

Here's a pic of the veil I just bought(in ivory):

I wanted a relatively small one...not too low on my face.
I love this, perfect with the dress.

Ok so I know I posted earrings a bit ago that my mom bought me, but I'm not sold on them yet. I found these on Etsy and can't get them out of my head. What do you think??
il_430xN.87710279.jpg

I actually think these suite the dress more than the other pair. But then again I also think trying 2 or 3 pairs until you decide is just a fine thing!
Your dress is a similar cut to mine and I had the same issue, a necklace just didn't work despite many attempts, so went for very long earrings.

The second thing is I found out my time off for our honeymoon was approved...unpaid. So we no longer will be going for 2 weeks, we just can't afford 2 weeks unpaid. We only earn vacation time on a monthly basis and I have used it all for 2009. So come March I will have a whopping 16 hours. So we decided we will only go down for the week which gives us a whole 4 day honeymoon.:sad1: I am trying to change our flights now...jumped the gun on that one since they were such a good deal. Also trying to sort out the hotel situation.

Blech.

Oh I know how hard that is! You will have time to make it up later and I think it's great that you are being responsible now about it but how disappointing.

LOVE your cake and look forward to reading about how your PS goes! I think the cake is absolutely fabu with your reception location and couldn't care less if it doesn't match a darn thing. Hopefully they can make it! It's all looking beautiful.

So much new lingo here in disney wedding land!

Thank you for all your kind words!! I am learning to have a thicker skin around here on the dis!

The earrings came in today and they are beautiful! I think they go really well with the dress. I loved your dress btw!!

I'm not sure it's the DIS...I think it's weddings, it brings out stuff in all of us! I haven't seen that elsewhere to be honest but I tend to stick to TR's, PTR's, Dining reports and the occasional resort thread. You get far enough away from your own wedding and you forget all the drama. I am watching my little sister go through it right now. In fact meeting her at a venue tomorrow lol! I did tell her about Tamu Tamu, in fact I think I need to have my next BIG birthday there! She isn't planning a Disney wedding though, needs to ease her DF into her addiction.

Thank you on the dress, neither of those are really good dress shots, I have better ones, but there is a lot about they style of your dress that reminds me of mine!

Have you considered a wrap at all in case it does get cold? When we were there Presidents week we had one night that was 50! 80 in the day and then 50. Your wedding isn't that far after that but I don't know what the temp swings are like in March. It was crazy!

It was FREEZING at our wedding, which was in Nov and I had a fabulous wrap that was perfect with the dress. Last minute impulse buy and I am SO glad did it!

I think the animals with the mickey ears would be too cute!!! I love it. And I just love etsy!!

Those earrings are great too!

Honestly I like both the pink and gold...but there is just something about the gold that works better. I think it was when I saw it all together...the gold shoes with the green dress and ivory bouquet with the Best Man's suit. I just love it!!!

Lol I don't know if I'll post pics of that one. We'll just have to count on Lauren to take a couple of good pics at the rehearsal dinner/welcome party!

Lol I love how everyone is excited about the gold shoes...now she just has to find a pair she loves (if not the ones she posted!)

I would love to stay at the Poly the night before. I don't mind switching but it would be nice. I think maybe we'll hold off booking until the AP rates come out.

So here's a little update:
We went to Eric's parents house last night as they wanted to talk about where to stay for the wedding. After much persuausion we lost and they have decided to stay at a nearby Hampton Inn...and are trying to convince the rest of his family to do the same. It's not a huge deal I was just kind of hoping they would stay with us.

We also showed them some of our inspiration pics (bouquet, suit, etc.). They really had nothing to say until we showed them the cake...his mom laughed and asked if we were serious:confused3 I don't think she really liked it. I also showed her pictures of my dress to which she said, It's nice. I know she doesn't have daughters but I guess I was hoping she'd say more than, it's nice. Eric says that's just how they are and not to take it personal. Oh well.

Eric is also debating whether he should ask his brother to be in the wedding. I think he really wants to do it but isn't sure how his brother will react. They aren't super close. Also, Eric (and his parents) dont' like that the bridal party would be uneven if he invites his brother...I don't care really but it was kind of a big deal to them. So I guess we'll wait and see what he decides to do. I love wedding planning!
I am catching up on your pj and just have to say that my best friend had 6 bms(including moh) and 12 gm (including bm) we all walked with 2 guys to one girl except the bm and moh and it looked fine. the pictures turned out great and everyone had so much fun! it is YOUR and ERIC day. do what you feel is right and it willl all be fine. the same with the cakes, if it is what you guys like do it. i think the whole AK theme is adorable! :thumbsup2

I love giraffe's in general, but also think they are the best out of those too.
