She was "supposed" to come back this coming Friday - and stay until Labor Day - but it seems her little ones have orientation next Monday and Tuesday, so she says she won't be able to come back until sometime after that..

awwwww... what a shame. Darn school and work always seem to get in the way of all the fun stuff... well maybe not for YOU!

Glad you'll be able to enjoy your remaining time a little more.

Now for the big question... Can you bear to put down the book first or, like me, do you have to finish what you started before putting it down to have fun out in the fresh air again?

I finished that 14-book series yesterday and today I'll be starting something new.. Doesn't matter if I'm inside or out - the books will be with me..

I "might" put the books down for a campfire though..

I know I could not deal with what you have dealt with, good friend's niece or not. I would have gotten rid of her long ago. My sanity just would not have been able to take what you have taken from her.

You said the woman isn't coming back, because she just "can't take it" up there. She doesn't like the lake? I can't even imagine.

We have a "little piece of heaven" up north, and although our property is not on a lake (for me, that would be too noisy because there would be too many other people) we do have 30 wooded acres and it's so peaceful and quiet. Most of the time all we hear is the wind in the trees, and the birds. We absolutely love it up there and go up as often as possible.

I don't want to "wish my life away" but I'm truly looking forward to retirement in a few years. We plan to build a small cabin smack dab in the middle of the property and I'm already dreaming about that!
