and now someone is posting their pretrip report here, too? :confused3 I thought there was board for that.

Maybe people are trying to avoid the one millilon hate filled political threads that keep popping up.

Could be! I'd set up a board for those, too.

Thing is, there is a place to post trip reports.

I think there was a push for a separate political area but it failed to pass. I know some post trip reports get moved here once it's become more of a clique thread and less about the trip. But not sure about the pre-trip reports on the CB. :confused3 If it keeps the political threads off the front page, I'm all for it. :thumbsup2

Ok-you may laugh at me-but what are 'clique threads'?.Thank you.x.

They are the threads filled with people who generally come to the boards and check in with people they know and enjoy in those particular threads.

What I will never understand is why they are called "clique" threads. I've ventured into a few of them and they have always been very warm and friendly to me. To me, "clique" infers that no new people are allowed. It suggests that they already have their friends and others aren't welcome, which I haven't seen to be the case at all.

I also don't understand why people are bothered by whatever number of them might be on each page. If I'm not interested in them, I just keep scrolling down until I find something I am interested in.

I wondered about the pre-trip report too. I know there is a board for them. Not that I really care but I see so many threads moved to the CB board because they veered off topic on other boards (makes it seem the CB is a dumping ground ;) ) so why not move move those to the appropriate boards?

As far as a place to gather threads (sounds better than clique), those don't bother me so much because you know what they are and easy to pass by. Political threads though. UGH! Just the titles can make you blood pressure rise so you really can't avoid them. A separate board for those would be nice.

I'm not in favor of a separate board for gathering threads because then no new people would go to that board (more than likely) and since anyone (usually) is welcome on those threads they could miss a good opportunity to meet some great friends!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :worship: :rotfl:

I'd rather see a thread post about a Dasani lady than another thread about Obama committing matricide or whatEVER.....:rotfl2:

I don't think cliques are bad. They tend to be exclusive, not to be mean or rude, but because few want to spend so much to stay involved. And coming in late puts you on the outside. Take the teacher's thread. I thought about piling in, but everyone seems pretty settled. Which is fine.

I merely miss when there were more threads that were more general. The slow down around here has been a bummer. I don't get a lot of free computer time, and the variety that has prevailed on the Dis has always been a fun escape!

I also think that people doing trip reports are relatively lucky. How many around here would like to see a homeschool board, or a political/debate board?

Not sure about what type of trip report is on here, but i know that if it is something other than disney, they move it to the community board. The trip report board is apparently just for disney trips. So when i went to alaska in May, i did a trip report because alot of people seemed interested and posted it on the community board.

In a hurry--i jumped in the teachers thread late but everyone seems really nice so itry to pop in once in awhile..come on over!

I don't see what the big deal is...if a thread does not interest you, just skip it.

I am a regular poster on a certain thread that pops up on the first page often but there are often new posters and everyone is welcome. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with everyone but we try our best.

It baffles me why it would bother someone to the point where they counted threads...IMHO.

LOL, just interested. Do you ever do dumb/useless things? I do all of the time! I left perfection behind quite awhile back!
