21st August 2011, Disney Dream

Hi everyone, life returning to normal for me now, just this weekend to get thru (Easter is also busy for a florist) then we are on the countdown to our trip.
Booked car rental for our 1st 14 days in August, will return that car to the airport when relatives go home and get a smaller car for just the 3 of us for the last 9 nights.
For a bit of fun I priced up our trip this week to see how much it has risen since we booked, didn't incl the cruise as no inside cabins are available to compare costs. 4 adults, 1 teen and 1x 3 year old cost us $16,702, to book the same hotel, flights, Tickets & DDP would now cost $29,992. Glad we booked early:thumbsup2
Prepay photopass and sort insurance next on my list.

Hi, we will be going on our first Disney cruise and we are so excited. We would love to participate in the FE exchange! Can you please add us to your list?

Vivek and Laurie -Chicago
Jasmine-age 3

Thank you and we can't wait to meet everyone!

Also we are in cabin 8148.

Welcome aboard, added you to our list here:thumbsup2

We have our stateroom number now! We're going to be in 7548! :cool1:

Added:thumbsup2

Does anyone know anything about Disney Magic sailing out of NY summer of 2012? Canada, Bahamas and two night cruises?

Hi Dawn, I believe the website has been updated with the info now. Did you book anything? Don't know what we are doing next year yet, doubt there will be any cruising, Matt starts University next Sept, fees are tripling from this year to next for UK University courses, couldn't have picked a worse year to start.

Checking in. We will be on the Dream in two rooms for this cruise. One is on Deck 8 and the other is a 9A GTY. We were in an 8D category in 5170 but I was able to upgrade earlier this week to an 8C from an 8D. I was really worried about being right above the nightclubs after reading some reports but now I'm 3 floors above them :goodvibes. Excited about the cruise but a little nervous about the crowds. Planning an excursion to the Blue Lagoon.

Welcome to group. Love another Boston Family! I am less worried about the crowd issues now. Reading the trip reports it seems 50/50. I sailed on the wonder twice when it was full, so I am sure the dream will be fine too. Besides how can it not be amazing!

Thanks- looking forward to the trip. This is our first cruise and I'm learning new things every day. It's funny, I know a lot about planning a trip to WDW but not much when it comes to DCL cruising. Thank goodness for the DIS!

Me princess:, DH :cloud9:, DS 17 :yay:, DS 13 :cool2:, DS6 :littleangel:

Welcome Huskies!! and WB Wayne!! ITs getting closer and closer!! Just for jollies, I just checked to see how much our cruise would cost if we booked now and it would be $1500.00 more... 100 days, 14 hrs, 11 mins to our flights.
August 5th we fly, 16 nights at OKW with free DDP, cruise for 4 nights then 3 nights at Holiday Inn DTD (Free using airmiles:goodvibes) Total 23 nights:woohoo:

We have return airfare! Just no way to get there yet! :lmao:

We plan to fly in Aug. 20th, 1 night at AKL, cruise for 4 nights, then 5 nights at CSR; fly out on Aug. 30th. I saw a seat sale for the 30th and grabbed the seats but still nothing for the 20th. I'll get there supposing I have to swim!

Hey hortontrio,

We also got free tickets for that Thursday at KSC,or so we think. We were told we got them but don't have a confirmation number. Should be fun. Looking forward to the trip with the grandkids.

Hey Everyone. I looked yesterday and we have a cabin! Its 2025. Now I have to go back to our meet list and see if I have any neighbors! I just switched out the kids winter clothes for summer clothes, and of course made a mental list of what 5 sundresses I was taking for my daughter, and which polos where going for my son! I love trip prep. We have 112 days till we head down to do 2 days in the park prior to the ship. It will be our first time in EPCOT, so I am really looking forward to seeing it.

Wow - you are good! I've only dug into the summer stuff enough to pull out stuff to get us by for a few days. It's crazy weather here - 80's one day, 50's the next. I'll probably try to pull out all the summer clothes next weekend.

Since we're doing a b2b, I'm only going to bring 4 dressy outfits and we can just wear them again (crossing fingers for no stains) for evening again on the second cruise. If not, I guess we'll be doing laundry! :laundy: We always dress for dinner and get family pictures taken - I usually hope that at least one set will turn out well....

Nancy, Put a travel size bottle full of woolite and then you can do laundry in your sink worst case senario, If you only have one or two little stains its not worth the effort of putting in a load of laundry!

Yes, I couldn't resist and booked a few in August out of New York.

two night cruise
5 Day Canada
b2b on the 8 day.

Kids can empty our pockets quickly. Sorry to hear about the fees tripling next year. Hopefully, his good education lands him a good job and he will be able to pay for all the future cruises you would like to take!! :)

Nlm - I think trying to get the private room for the brunch is a great idea, if enough of us are interested. I've never done it before but I'll ask my TA how it's done.

don't bother.... Brunch, is set up in the private room...

On the Disney Dream, you may get several tables in dining area.?

Welcome :dance3:
Looks like we are on the same B2B with you guys. I cant wait to see the new ship:banana:

Hello to everyone else .... Hope spring is arriving in your part of the world.

I am still mulling over my FE gifts, not real sure I will be "making" them, vs buying. I am right at the end of a very busy season at work so maybe I will feel different in a few weeks.

DS and I will be going to DisneyLand in June...helps ease the wait till August.
Still....the wait is still too long ....I want to go now !:yay:

We have just had one of the driest warmest April's on record(something not quite right there for the UK:rotfl:) temps have dropped a little this past week but still great for time of year.

We are now trying to decide on FE gifts, getting closer now.:goodvibes

We've been trying to pick some items too. Since this is our first DCL trip, we also have to create some type of FE. I don't know if I can take the pressure. I guess I should take a cruise to relax...:woohoo:

You asked for town hyperlink update. In the oh-so-small area of sunny Hatfield, PA, there is a township and a borough completely enclosed within that township. The hyperlink we currently have is for the borough but both of us are township residents. While trying to figure out whether my friend is in the township, I also managed to learn that the borough came about due to an argument regarding adding more gaslights on the streets. You learn something new (and silly) everyday!! I'm enjoying browsing all of the other links also.

Here's the Hatfield Township, PA wikipedia link.
