21st August 2011, Disney Dream

Sonny, Wayne and any other folks~~maybe if it works we can all do the CC geocache together!!!:cool1:

We will see nearer the time who wants to do it, no idea what we are doing on Castaway yet. We considered the Ocean bottom fishing again but it was so good last time I worry it will be disappointing a 2nd time. Maybe just a little snorkelling and the cache.:goodvibes

Has anyone ever had their kid go on the teen wild side adventure on Castaway Cay? I'm thinking that DD13 may be bored hanging out with the family that day, and might like this (kayaking, biking, and snorkeling) teen group activity, but if she turns out not to have a pal, it might be less fun. It would also give her something to do apart from DD12 (not that they ever fight, or bicker, or drive each other and us crazy, of course).

Also, does anyone know if the teen clubs have activities on CC that are included in the price (ie, like the clubs in the ship) or are there just activities for the younger set?

Finally, I am thinking about reserving a room at Comfort Suites on Nassau so that we can do the Atlantis water park on our own. From what I've read on the boards it is easy to do, and the price is much less than if you go through Disney (although still not cheap). Has anyone done this before? What are your plans for Nassau?

Thanks!

Have to go back and catch up with all the reading of the posts.

I am bummed since I cancelled our month on the Magic in the Med. :(

This will be the first year we aren't sailing Disney for the month. I did book other cruises in between, just not Disney. At least we are doing a back to back on the Dream.

Booked airfare. It was $700.00 for the two of us on Jet Blue from New York. I see the airfare went up today. I got it just in time.

Haven't decided where we are staying yet. We are doing a back to back on RCCL before our Disney cruises, so we may stay close to the port. I am guessing the Radisson, unless anyone has a better place?

I will be back after I catch up on all the reading.

My Daughter has done the Teen Wild side before and loves it. The teens also have a teen beach with lots of activities to do. I am sure she will make a pal or two. Make sure she attends the ice breaker the first night onboard. That is where all the friendships begin!!

Thanks, Pixiedustdawn! I am going to keep the wild side in mind, and make sure both my girls go to the mixer the first night.

I thought I had read somewhere that the teen beach went away with the expansion of the family beach to accommodate the Dream - does anyone know if that's the case? Maybe just a rumor. I'll post on the main board and see if any recent cruisers have some info.

You might be correct about that. I remember my daughter mentioning something like that. I will try to remember to ask her in the morning. I think she said something about the cabanas are there instead.

We made a reservation at Comfort Suites. This will be our first time in Nassau, so I don't have any experience with it, but it was cheaper than booking through Disney.

We just booked the Radisson for Saturday night. We debated other hotels, but got the Radisson for a great price and decided to go with it...

I just realized that I've been lurking so long that I probably need to introduce myself again.

I'm Nancy. My DH (Don), DD14, DD8 and I are taking our third and fourth Disney cruises. This is the first leg of our B2B. We're in room number 8679 for both cruises. So far, we're staying at the Radisson on Saturday night and booked the Comfort Inn for our first day in Nassau.

I'm reading Dream trip reports to try to come up with a plan for dining. We definitely want to do Palo brunch and dinner and would love to do Remy's. Anyone else thinking about doing Remy's? I figured we would probably need to book it on board. I'm not sure if others are having much success booking it in advance.

DD14 would like to correspond with others her age who will be in the clubs with her. She's done this on past cruises and has had a wonderful time with the girls she has met. Please PM me if your child would be interested in emailing with her.

I love the Radisson and would stay there again in a heart beat. We are going to be in the park pre cruise otherwise I would be there again. You will love it.

Kim

Hi Nancy, Updated our list (click here) added your names and cabin.

We will be trying to get a Palo Brunch res but not interested in Remy, doing 16 days of free Dining before the cruise so with that and cruise its 20 days of food overload.:goodvibes

Hey everyone! My oldest daughter is a Wish Kid and we just got our dates for this cruise! It is our first time cruising and we're all very excited! Can't wait to "meet" all of you!!

Hi Michelle and Nancy! Great to meet you guys!

Nancy, we also booked a room at Comfort Suites for the Nassau day - have you done that before? I haven't, but it sounds like a good way to see Atlantis.

We are also interested in doing the Palo brunch.

My DD13 would be interested in corresponding (read, emailing) with your DD14, although they might not be in the clubs together since I think the cut off is 14 for the older club. DD13 won't be close enough to 14 by then to move up (December birthday). But if that is ok with you, let me know and we can connect them! I'm also thinking about offering her the wild side excursion on CC, although I haven't mentioned it to her yet.
