I know this sounds very far-fetched, but the weekend after reading this thread, DH and I went to WDW and I had a very similar visual issue as what the OP was describing--like movie frames passing in front of my eyes. It was actually while I was watching Expedition Everest!
I really think it was an ophthalmic migraine. Since my diagnosis a few weeks ago, I've had a bunch (like, about 8) recurrences and they have all been very different--sometimes jagged lines, sometimes a graying-out of different parts of my visual field, and then this experience with "movie frame vision."
The ophthalmologist the emergency room doc referred me to wanted me to see a neurologist. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks and I imagine she will order an MRI. OP. hopefully this is just another manifestation fo your migraines.
