It sounds like you might be having nystagmus, did you feel like your eyes were 'buzzing' back and forth or up and down?
Regardless, get to a doctor, NOW. I would tell my neurologist if he couldn't get me in first thing tomorrow morning then he could meet me at the ER tonight. I don't know your medical history, but in a healthy person, this is NOT normal, and could be an ominous symptom of something much, much worse.
I'm not trying to scare you unnecessarily, but this is not like an ingrown toenail or a weird rash. This is a neurological symptom, and even if it turns out to be some odd manifestation of an ocular migraine, I'd feel better if you had it checked out.
Ocular migraine. Look it up. I had one once and thought I was having a stroke. For me, my vision looked like I was looking through a piece of broken glass that was slowly rotating. I didn't even have a bad headache.
MS comes to mind. YOu need to see your neurologist again.....
That's a huge leap.
I hope you are right.
I usually get an MRI once a year, because I have a spot on my head since I was 17, no one knows why its there... could have been born with it.
I do get ocular migraines, corkscrew shaped kaleidoscope which are accompanied by a moving stroke like loss of feeling on the right side of my face that starts near my eye and drops until it hits my chin. I have also had episodes where all my peripheral vision goes black. My experience with these is pretty moderate so I think I would recognize one of these.... if this is a new form then I will be greatly relieved.
