21 years ago today a baby boy died

Liz I don't know if you remember me it has been so long. We have since moved from FL. to Calif. I was so surprised to be getting a email from the DIS since I haven't been on in so long.

What a wonderful post to wake up to! What a lovely DD you have. Continued blessings of health and happiness to you and your lovely family.

Continued blessings to your sweet DD Laura and all your family. I am amazed to once again read Laura's journey and update. We take so much for granted and this indeed is a reminder that we should count our blessings. Godspeed

Hi Lisa! I sure do remember you! I remember calling a number when we were visiting my mom (I can't remember how I found it or why I thought it was yours) but the message I left was probably the strangest thing for those people to listen to! Glad to hear from you again! Hope you are doing well! :)

Another year, Liz. :thumbsup2 Wonderful, always so nice to hear the updates regarding Laura. You both gave me another smile today, thanks so much.

I hope you are doing well Dan! Many prayers sent on your behalf as well! Have a great day my friend!

What an incredible journey and beautiful story...
thank you for sharing it...
Wishing you many continued blessings! :grouphug:

Thank you for sharing your wonderful story:goodvibes An organ donor saved my dad's life as well. My dad was 51 and needed a new kidney. His organ donor was a 23 year old from the other side of the country. We don't know much about the young man who died, but we are grateful beyond words that he chose to be an organ donor.

Happy Anniversary Laura :cake: Here's to many, many more to come.

Liz, I think of your beautiful daughter everytime I think about my mom, who's eye tissue I donated last Aug, I think of her because I know nothing about those that received her gift :goodvibes

Celebrating another year with you and remembering the ultimate kindness of a mom in the time of her grief. Prayers for joy and for comfort where they are needed today. I know Laura honors that gift in the life she leads. Thanks for sharing your happiness with us!

What a blessing and a great reason to celebrate life. Your Lauras news is so encouraging. My friend, who's daughter Alyssa is right now on the 1A transplant list at Columbia/Morgan Stanleys children in NYC.

Its so wonderful to see and hear the good news about your dd.

What a wonderful story, and I hope your daughter is still doing well.

This was also a reminder for me to re-sign up to be a donor in my state. They changed their proceedure and everyone that was signed up before had to do it over again. They run ads on TV to remind people but I always forget to do it by the time I'm back in front of my computer. So I just did it a few minutes ago!

Another year. That is just such a blessing for you.

We lost my nephew Jason in 1984. His parents donated his organs. Jason will always live in our hearts but its also good to know his life saved others.

So sorry about your nephew but it was a brave an unselfish thing his parents did! I hope stories like ours help people to know donating isn't in vain and it makes a huge difference in people's lives. Thank you for sharing!

I've always been an organ donor, tried to donate part of my liver to save my mom which unfortunately wasn't meant to be :sad2: but I agree, everyone should be an organ donor if they're medically able to; you can't take it with you! :littleangel:

When my neice died six years ago in a car wreck at 18 months old, I encouraged my brother to donate her organs. Her mom was completely against it though, so it didn't happen. It still makes me sad to think about it. :guilty:

One of my son's teachers was killed in a car accident 6 years ago this past February. Her mother told us at the wake that her organs helped 45 people. What a legacy. Also my ex-boss, the sweetest attorney in the world, is still recovering from a liver transplant. We would have lost this quiet wonderful man 9 months ago if some family had not made the sacrifice.
