Anyone else had this? We won't use fp for day one since our flight arrives at 3:15pm so will just head to the resort. After this we can only book fp for the next 13 days. I called disney and was told that we won't be able to utilise fp for the remaining days as mde is not compatible with 21 day tickets????

I thought it was a rolling window but I'm not sure on what basis. It varies depending on the type of ticket you have, just to make things more complicated and it keeps changing. So when I say I'm not sure on what basis there should be a rolling window, I mean whether you can't hold FP's for more than 14 days at a time or whether it works on the ADR principle where another day opens up each day, if that makes sense.

When was your 60 day window? If it's today, check again tomorrow and see if one more day has opened. Feedback on how it goes would be great as we also have 21 day tickets. Fancy having a system that doesn't recognize some of the media you actually sell :rolleyes2

My experience with FP+ and 21 days ultimate.

It was back in october, so test phase, not sure how valid it is now

FP+ were bookable for the length of stay = as long as you stay at a disney hotel. For example if you do 2 weeks at Disney and 1 week offsite, you are only supposed to be able to book FP+ for the first 2 weeks, if you stay 3 weeks onsite, you're supposed to be able to book FP+ for the whole 3 weeks (not always true, as some guests have managed to make ghost ressies at hotels and have access to FP+ for the duration of their tickets despite staying only one night onsite, and even cancelling that night at 60 days out)

BUT you can (could) only hold FP+ for 14 days at a time. Those days did not need to be consecutive.
Once a FP+ day was used up, another day became available. = if you booked the first 14 days, you needed to wait until the end of your first day in the parks to be able to book day 15, and so on.

What the CM told you is partly true. MDE cannot cope with 21 days tickets, meaning that you can only book FP+ for a period of 14 days at a time (AP holders are limited to 7 days over a rolling period of 30 days)

But you will be able to use FP+ for the whole 21 days on your tickets, you will just need to book FP+ 2 weeks out, once you're in WDW as soon as one day has been used on your tickets as long as you don't exceed 14 days of FP+, IYSWIM

Ah chmurf I thought of you when I opened this thread and remembered you'd posted your experience with it last year.

I just called them to ask and was told that we should be able to book length of stay even on 21 day tickets because it is a set number of days on the ticket so not the same as an AP which is more open ended within the year for which it is valid. The CM said that it the entire window may not open up on the 60 days due to changes being made on the MDE system right now but that we need to keep trying/checking it as it should. Of course whether this is true or not, only we will be able to see.

I have to say I resent being used as a crash test dummy paying full price to enable Disney to collect their data :rolleyes1

Another question for chmurf regarding 21 day stays, did you manage ok with your resort mugs and your photopass+ getting it activated for length of stay? Sorry MaryPoppins if I'm hijacking your thread

I really don't know who to believe at Disney anymore.

We have the 21 day tickets and after reading a number of threads on the subject of FP+ I phoned Disney on two separate occasions and emailed them on a third [because of different posts I have read all saying different answers ] to ask how many days of fast passes could I book on this ticket in advance.

I have spoken to two different people, and also had a reply to a email. The first person told me I could book 10, second person said 14. Both of them said that when we are at Disney after we use a day then we can add another day. The email I received from guest services said 7 days, and also said the same as the others that as I used a day I could add another.

I honestly have not got a clue who to believe at Disney. It seems they are giving different answers all the time, maybe they should give their staff some extra training.

Lyndon.

If this is true though then we're at a disadvantage by having a lesser window meaning all the good times are likely gone. Seems unfair to invest in the biggest ticket outlay and longer hotel stays but then not be able to use the benefits of it!
I called the mde helpline now and was told it's hit and miss what tickets work as it's a test!!!!!!!!

Counting down to 14th May!

Hijack away as I'd also like to know about photo pass.

This is probably the most accurate advice you've been given. I'm quite frankly appalled at the method in which Disney has attempted to install these changes. Yes, for those who follow the many hot threads on the TPAS boards you'll recognize me from there as one of the Haters :rotfl: Seriously though, it's not like a Disney trip has ever been simple as far as holidays go. Yet they have a different rule for each and every type of ticket, and different again depending on where you stay when you use your ticket.

I agree with you, it does put you at a disadvantage. By the time my window opens, a good number of offsiters should be able to book in advance too, making it more challenging to get what we want. Not only that, as luck has it, day 15 of our stay is 3rd July. So the time when I really could use those advance bookings is exactly where the cut off would be. Forgive my rant but I'm so done with Disney in its current state. How dare they take my ****ing $3000 per person and use me as a paid guinea pig for a dysfunctional system based on an IT framework that couldn't even handle basic searching in it's former simplified state. Rant over. For now.

The photopass+ was activated for even longer. We had 3 nights at AoA:LM then 21 nights at POR, I managed to get it activated on our 1st (full) day and for a total duration of 24 days.
No questions asked, the CM just asked "when do you check out ?" and punched the holes for the date I gave her
Well, actually, on the first week, I got weird looks from photographers realising that my PP+ expiry date was too far away in the future, but none ever raised any question.

But now that it's memory maker, it's no longer a date with holes punched on a card, it's all in their system. So, in a sense, it should be easier to have an "end date" entered, but it remains to know if they can go past their 14 days limit. IDK

Regarding the mug, it was activated for 14 days, the CM told me they couldn't set a longer period, but I was welcome to drop by the food court on day 15 to have it extended for the remainder of my stay. And so I did, the CM extended the mug, didn't even bother to see any proof of check out date, not even a MB scan, no nothing, just gave me 14 more days on my mug.
TBH beverage dispensers at POR have functionned for 3 days on the rapid refill system, then they were all turned off for the better part of those 3 weeks and it was free for all, just like the old system ...

This might not help much, but it's all I've got :)

Actually it's a huge help. I remembered you posting about it specifically and couldn't find the thread when I tried to search earlier. Thank you for that.

So the fact that I bought PP+ before MemoryMaker may make things easier for me since I too had mine punched for length of stay in the past. Did you activate it at DTD? Sorry, last question I promise :goodvibes

I'd also like to know this as DTD is mine and DH first night. We're there for 15 nights but have 14 day tickets so I thought for a change as it's only the two of us we'd break with tradition of going into a park and head to DTD.

who knows ? ...

they might give you a PP+ card, or they might "upgrade" you to a Memorymaker ..

I really have no idea ... I guess it will depend if they have run out of PP+ card or not :)
Sorry I don't have the slightest idea

no worries, if you ask enough questions I might find one I actually have an answer to :) :) :)

ETA : oh, I didn't see the last question. And yes I can answer :) I did activate the PP+ at DTD :p

With 14 day tickets you will not have an issue because Disney's computer system handles onsite reservations up to 14 days so you will be fine and yes you can do it at DTD as this is where we did ours. The reason I asked Chmurf about it is because like the OP, we all have 21 day tickets and this overrides the maximum 'official' stay that the Disney system is designed to deal with.

We got more days on PP+ last time because we had 3 MNSSHP's booked which got us 3 additional park days over and above the 14.

I know that they won't upgrade or change PP+ to MM as I have already tried and was told that it is a totally different package so that's fine. If you want to change it they want you to ship back the voucher and CD and give them 3 weeks to process the refund and you can make a new purchase of MM (I'm sure the refund won't take that long but you have to wait for international shipping to get to them so probably close). I decided to keep what I have and just use it as I was happy with the service last time.

And so far you have answered all my questions :thumbsup2
