DAY 9 - Chef Mickey's - Prime Outlets Shopping - DISmeet
TODAY'S VIDEO - ***Chef Mickey's***
A little lie in today, before we made our way to the Contemporary for a 8:50 breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey’s.
In preparation for her favourite character meal, Emma had her hair plaited before going to bed to get the ~~~wave~~ effect!
Unfortunately as this was a late breakfast, hunger took over and I didn’t realize that I hadn’t taken any photographs until the second plate was cleared! We were visited by Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Mickey and Minnie at various times and they all posed for photos. (VIDEO1)
Today, was the first day of the annual ‘back to school’ tax-free weekend, where no tax is paid on individual clothing items under $50, so we paid a visit to Prime Outlets at the top of International Drive.
We visited a few of our favorite shops, Levis, Converse, Aeropostal, Wilsons Leather etc. which took up most of the day. Ugg – the Australian shoe company have also opened a shop here.
Wayne had arranged a DIS meet at OKW main pool for around 7:00, so we needed to eat before then. Earl of Sandwich at DTD was the next stop, but as soon as we reached the I4, the heavens opened and it was like driving in a monsoon. Car parking was a nightmare at DTD, and even wearing poncho’s, I still managed to get wet on our way to the EOS. It turned out that Sue had put my Poncho on and I was wearing hers, which was barely longer than a t-shirt on me.
As time was pressing on, we decided to have ‘to go’ and eat when we got back to OKW. I sent a text to Wayne, to see if the DIS meet was still on. Arriving back at the room, we ate the food and got changed out of the wet clothes. It was around 7:15 before we arrived at the pool. Wayne’s and Martin’s (burt) families had already arrived, but they were at guest services desk, sorting out issues with dining credits,
Soon other DIS’ers families arrived. - Scojos – fuse04 – luke – EvertonCJ – All Star Paul(sorry if I have missed anyone out). The night went all too quickly, swapping stories and experiences of hotels, restaurants etc. We finally called it a day at around 11:15
