21 dats to go - Why would I add on @ GF

Wow! We're now 3 weeks from our first BLT stay. Excitement and reality building.

I've been reading about a possible new DVC property at GF. DF and I love the Poly but wondering why we would be interested in GF if we own at BLT? Can't seem to get excited for this news. Location is huge for us but we have this area covered with BLT. For a future add-on, more interested in EPCOT area or even one of the other properties for price and theme.
Any reason I could be persuaded differently?

Different strokes for different folks. Personally BLT has no interest for me, decor makes me gag. GF may appeal to us, but I won't know until I see it.

If it's about location, then you'd want to add-on at BCV (good luck there) or BWV.

We're in the same boat, but when considering an addon we would rather cover the EPCOT area transportation wise.

Location and walking to parks is a big piece for us which is why we bought BLT as well and why we are in the process of adding on at BWV.

This gives us a place in both MK and Epcot areas and doing split stays are no big deal for us. We would rather split stay and be able to walk to 3 of the 4 parks than do one stay and have to us buses or drive everywhere.

DVC GF would not be of interest to us either, unless they finish that walkway. If that happened, then maybe we would try it but I don't see us buying there.

I was always torn on BLT. Great location but no real theme. The Grand Floridian solves that problem. But we own all the points we are likely to need at this point. I know there are others that feel the same that will soon have an option.

There's no need for you to be persuaded in GF. If you're more interested in Epcot area resorts, then focus on a possible add on there.

For me, my two favorite resorts are AKV and BWV, which is why I own there. I love all of the DVC resorts on WDW property and love having the option of staying at them. But I know the majority of my vacations I'd like to spend at my two favorites. So it makes sense to own at your favorites...not just because everyone else likes a certain resort.

We have no real interest in owning at VGF. It's just not our room style, but if we see some pics and DW likes it then, we might reconsider.

That is the beauty of being a DVC member. There is such a wide range of atmospheres within each resort. If you are happy with BLT then enjoy it- you could always stay at GF or do a split stay to "try out" GF. Our first purchase was VWL but spend most of our time at EPCOT and added on at BCV and love it. It's what is right for you and says "Welcome Home."
