Has anyone heard anything about a remodel of 20K in Fantasyland? I have heard that it will be reopened and also that it will be an Ariel themed ride. Curious...maybe Ariel will take on the giant squid??:earseek:

Current plans are to reopen the area in November. The new area will be home to (drum roll please)..... A new character meet and greet. Yup, thats it. No new ride, just more character interaction.

The good news is that there will probably be a ride there someday. The old 20K showbuilding is still intact, so there is a good chance they will eventually put sonething in there. We can only hope. In the short term (aside from the afore mentioned meet and great), there are rumors of the filled in lagoon area becoming a Pooh bases playground for very young children.

Nooooooo...say it isn't so!!:bounce: Another meet'n'greet? Who will it be that fits in the Fantasyland theming? I heard they were "rehabbing" the Fantasyland skyway station for a meet area for Snow White.

Last week I was told that it will be a toddler play area, Pooh themed. My source was definately someone who SHOULD be in the know about such things. I do believe that there won't be a ride as the same source indicated that while things are being planned nothing is funded after the current projects (stitch, sorin', everest).

A meet and greet area wouldn't shock me.

That's a big space I wonder if it won't be both a play area for the toddlers and place where you can meet the pooh characters like a smaller toon town area.

And to think at Disneyland they actually think it might be nice to, you know, open a ride in the sub area. One that even invovles, you know, subs.

My the only one who thinks they missed the boat (sub?) by not updating it to a Nemo ride? Should have been fairly economical and i think it would have fit in better than at Living Seas.

You sir are riding on the Good ship Ouimet as well.

In a couple years that's exactly what you're gonna see in Disneyland.

Wow. I'm very dissapointed. MK really needs another ride in fantasyland and it has so many movies that involve water to pick from.

That's really too bad. :( Sounds like if they are putting all this time and money into turning it into a playground or meet 'n greet, they'll probably be keeping it that way for a while.

Oh well. :(

We were at MK yesterday. If the new meet 'n' greet at the old 20k site is supposed to be up by 11/11, they better be workin' hard. I climbed on a garbage can to peek over the wall, and the area is completely torn up. Everything that was there is in the late stage of being totally demolished.

Anybody hear about anything being different with Small World? The closing period seems much longer than a standard rehab. And, we found some small holes in the black paint covering the windows looking in from Pinocchio Haus. The inside of the load/unload area is completely gutted, full of scaffolding, all theming completely removed. Just wondering if they were going to change it significantly.

Thanks

For IASW they will do the more politically correct version of the dolls where there won't be any stereotyping of any culture.

Basically everybody will look and dress the same.

20k ride was notoriously slow loading and some what hazardous as well, ie: the low opening, the narrow stairs, which was one of the reasons given for it's closing.
