Actually, I think it makes sense that they would be doing major renovations at places like the Poly and the Contemporary. They are, as spiceycat said, about 35 years old. So definitely time for some upgrading!! And a major renovation this year would probably see them through another 15 or so years. I still think, if what I remember reading on that other post was correct, that after 50 years they would do replacement renovations. I'm not implying that they would "tear down the Poly" and it would be gone forever, but I could easily see them tearing down parts of a resort and building new construction - or even "tearing down" a hotel and rebuilding it, essentially not taking any reservations for it for a certain amount of time.
Oh, well, who knows????
