I usually do a combo - because I always seem to have some cards leftover from previous years.. :)

This year they are Minnie and Mickey's Tree Farm designs - bought them last week at Disney. Other years we've done photo cards of the family - last year was a picture in front of the lit up Cinderella Castle. The year before it was the three of us with Chip and Dale. So I guess my cards have been Disney themed for the last few years.

Since we first had a puppy, even before kids, we've been doing a photo card. After the first few years, I started making the cards too, which always turned into a huge undertaking. My oldest is 20 now, but we still do the picture cards because we don't live near any relatives (except my mom), and they've said they enjoy them. I've got 17 great nieces and nephews, and old friends with kids, from around the country, and I love getting pictures of them too.

We did photo cards after our Dec. '06 trip to Disney, but I refuse to have my photo taken now (I look SCAREY since I've lost so much weight.. ), so I'll do a combo this year - if I get around to it..;)

CHeap ones ;)

I like them to be cute though.

I usually do a LETTER....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I know. most people here HATE them, but I like them so I do one.....

It is not braggy, just says what we have been doing for the last year. I HOPE that I will get to announce a new grandbaby on the way this next year!

Now that's something to definitely "brag" about - and of course add photos as well.. :goodvibes

It's probably more of a combination (I have leftovers every year too)...but I pick out cards that have a "WOW" impact on me when I read them...not so much what they look like, but what the message is.

This year, however, I went with more "fun"/secular ones.

Yep. It will be. I am hoping I will get to mail them after friday :) and I'll be bragging here too!! ;)

We usually do a photo card with a religious "frame" around the photo. I haven't done anything this year though--I need to get a picture taken :lmao: .

I buy ones to support a charity that trains assistance dogs for people with a variety of disabilities. They always have a cute puppy on the front and the profit goes to a great organisation.

Depends on the year. I think the only funny one was the one with the Christmas tree that the elves decorated.

I will not buy cards that don't say, "Merry Christmas" on them. No "Season's Greeting", no "Happy Holidays." MERRY flippin CHRISTMAS.

Just nice ones that are not religious. Everyone I would send a card to knows I am an atheist and some even make a point of sending non-religious cards to me even when they send religious cards to most everyone else. I appreciate their thoughtfulness for that.

We always get two different kinds. I love cards that focus on the Christmas story and may include the manger and the stable, the three kings, the star, the shepards, etc. I like to find cards that include a scripture. Then I have secular cards for friends who are Jewish, Hindu and agnostic, but still celebrate the season. This year they are a pretty winter scene with holly and snow, wishing 'joy and peace this holiday season'. :)

We took ours on Thanksgiving morning; with two kids in college, it's hard to get them together. It was the fastest photo session ever...they behave at this point. It's the darn dog who gets distraught because he knows something's up!

Since I make my own cards, and we have several Jewish friends we send them to, I always do Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings. I'm not making two sets of cards.
