2027 Points Charts Predictions

There are two thoughts on that. Some say absolutely not.

I have not found anything that talks about those adjustments when it comes to points charts used for reserving the rooms vs total points for the resort for sale.

I know they can’t move points to sell between residential units but I honestly not sure they can’t balance across the resort.

I lean they can, but I know others feel that can’t.
I’m in the absolutely not camp.

Although I presume this is similar to what happened when some of the TPV rooms at BLT were changed to standard view.

Someone said it appears that the points assigned to the longhouses are up so if that is the case, it would be an example of it.

Like I said, I lean they can but honestly, can’t find enough to make me say they can’t…and the information I have been given has been a toss up too!

The POS very clearly says that any increase in points required for a given Vacation Home must be offset by a decrease in another Vacation Home, or a decrease in a different season.

There are no decreases in any of the declared rooms types at PVB. Only an increase across all room types for the whole of season 1.

Not permitted in my view.

Any rooms that are moving from TPV to Resort/Pref view would have a reduction in point costs, we just can't see the number of rooms in each category with the point charts alone

We're playing with our new tool before launch momentarily, but I thought I'd share a little of what we can do as we import 2027... You can compare immediately against the prior year. Example - Looks like Value rooms got an increase over at Jambo, and here are your Polynesian changes already being discussed:

Made comparison really easy!
Glad to see they lowered points for Savanna View Studios and 1B. I guess it's to attract more people to the sometimes underbooked rooms. Might be harder to book with SAPs now.

Assuming they are in fact moving rooms from TPV to a different view… we don’t know.

Even if they are moving rooms, it is a totally disingenuous way to increase points. They could declare one ‘magic view’ room that costs 10000 points per night, and then later just change that to a resort view and reallocate all those points across the other resort views.

Yes, we will need to confirm with DVC (or with the booking tool data when 2027 dates become bookable) whether or not that is actually the case. But it would be a way in which some rooms could have decreased in point cost. So you can't say for certain that "There are no decreases in any of the declared rooms" as you did.

I'm not saying that it isn't a bit shady, because they definitely could have been nicer about it. If this is what happened, then they could have just sold less overall points and kept the charts the same, but they of course wouldn't want to eat a bunch of points at $200+ per point that they were planning on selling this entire time.

Wait!

If they are indeed reclassifying rooms from TPV to lower views as some have said, that means that they will have less rooms in a higher point category than they thought. So more Resort/Preferred view rooms and less TP View rooms than they anticipated.

I think that is where the increase on the rooms may be coming from if they are trying to keep the same total number of points sold but moving some views to a lower view category
This makes sense and is likely the explanation

Wouldn’t expect them to eat the points…they could have just moved a few of the high floor resort review rooms up to preferred view.

This might be a big ask… is it possible to highlight any point boxes that have changed from the year prior?

TIA and thanks for all else you do

Looking at the Poly adjustment, I see that in 2026 there are three Fri/Sat days in the Dec 24-31 "ultra-max" period, whereas in 2027 there are only two. I don't know the room count offhand, but the loss of the 2-br Penthouse Villas and Bungalows drawing an additional 20-30 points each (along with smaller 'losses' from smaller rooms) might be enough to offset the difference?

With that said, it didn't happen in any other hotels, so I'm suspicious. One other explanation may simply be related to how many points have been sold, how many rooms are available, and whether this was part of the master plan given that they changed the room count and total number of points available in the pool.
I like this theory, but if true, why would it only apply to the two lowest-cost time periods of the year? If it was a matter of additional rooms getting declared, it would also apply to more than two time periods.
