2027 Disney Summer Cruises

I want to do the Norwegian Fjords but havent done any research on the ideal (or even second best) itinerary

Are the ones from Disney good ones?

(I haven't cruised in other cruise lines either, somehow I only trust D safety health stndrs but have to do a bit reading about the others )

When you say health standards what are you looking for? The ship's rating? Most cruise lines get high marks there. If you're meaning "people never get sick" that's not realistic as illness hits them all at some point.

No I really don't know what you are referring to. The cruise lines are going back to the Baltics and they are selling. It's no secret they pulled out because they couldn't go to Russia, but they are selling without that stop. Disney has deemed short cruises more profitable and that is most likely what they will continue to do.

We did the 2023 11 night Northern Europe cruise on DCL that went as far as Sweden. I wish it would have also gone to Finland and Estonia too. It did end up being one of our favorite cruises. The cruise wasn't until August and I think that was the reason for the weaker sales. It did sell out in the long run with all kinds of discounts. I really think If they moved it up to June or July sales would be better.

It would be nice to see more variety for the Caribbean cruises. The Eastern routes are just boring, and the Western routes might not be the place to be if something else occurs in the region related to Venezuela, Columbia or Mexico.

Regardless of that fact many people still associate Baltic cruises with Russia. Other lines are making a go of it but they’re priced lower, and how many a year are they running per ship..? For just one or two in a year Disney is probably happy to wait until they can add St Petersburg back and charge what they like. It’s likely a headache to arrange ports versus just more stops in the same in the med.

Proximity, it means everything when it comes to cruises as well as flights. It's no secret (to use your words) the reasons they pulled out of the Baltics not merely where you can find a county on a map (you can search this if you're inclined to). Please don't try and drawl out a political discussion, it's moot for the most part as cruise lines are creeping back in to the Baltic sea.

All for that hot Caribbean sun. Even if itineraries are so mundane, just not having to see that snow n ice makes it worthwhile. Gawrsh I could use a Disney cruise!

I don't know about priced lower (I doubt it looking at the cruises online) but for Seabourn they are just incorporating it into their Northern Europe season and just pushing more eastward than they had been but in fairness Seabourn's cruise lengths are quite a bit longer than Disney ever would be which make this a lot easier to still maintain established ports and routes and timing of the year for a ship's season. Not sure about the other cruise lines that the PP mentioned.

The example I gave a bit ago for Seabourn was an 11 day one but Seabourn uses segments a lot so you could take a 28 day, 25 day cruise, 21 day cruise, 18 day cruise, 14 day, etc (there is a 7 day one that covers a few of the ports in the picture I posted before but isn't the exact route) all that cover the days that were included in that 11 day one. In addition in May 2027 they are using their Expedition ship for a portion of the time in Northern Europe and they will cover several but not all of the ports in that picture I shared. The segments I think helps them sell sailings throughout the world as people can join a cruise that works better for them on date and length. On our first cruise the question everyone was asked was "are you on the 7 day Venice to Athens or 14 day Venice to Istanbul cruise". On our second we joined at the first port coming off the transatlantic which I believe the lengths were anywhere between 21 (if you did the transatlantic crossing as well) to 19 to what we did which was 12 to 28 days. A couple we got to really talking with throughout the cruise was on for the 19 day segment and had joined when we did.

I don't think that follows Disney's model at all so I could see them like you said pushing it out more and more in time hoping to be able to do a more dedicated specific sailing to it. I do agree with the other comments of hoping for more varied ports but there's increasing limitations throughout the sailing world that isn't helping at all.

Everything is priced lower than DCL...always and forever. I booked a 9 night on NCL next year. It's 7k . Maybe that's cheap to you, but it's not to me. It was less then Celebrity or Princess. They are running weekly all Summer long. NCL is alternating between 7 and 9 nights. Princess 12 nights and Celebrity 12 nights.
I don't want to be argumentative, but I spent weeks pricing out cruises and watching you tube videos on the different ships doing Baltic cruises. You can easily check the cruises for yourself. Anyone associating the Baltic countries with the current conflict is geopolitically challenged.
I think DCL has decided those short cruises out of Southhampton are going to be their Port Canaveral equivalent. They are in the business of making money ... I can't blame them for that.

I'm well aware of where the Baltic countries are and they are currently not in any conflicts. So your saying Finland{ a NATO Country} being on the border of Russia makes it dangerous?? Guilty by border? Alaska is very close to Russia too. Honestly if Russia was going to attack Europe Germany and UK would be the first ones on the list and the world as we know it would be over. It's such a ridiculous argument.

DCl also pulled out of Turkey. Im going to Turkey in July. I also cruised to Turkey and Greece during the Syrian war. I was in Israel when rocket were being launched. Someone else said they just went to Egypt which is right next to a major conflict. Travel or don't travel, but there are always risks.

Honestly I’d rather have Puerto Rico back than Tortola. I loved PR when I visited on the Fantasy. (I know a handful of cruises have PR again now, so it’s good they are mixing it up more.)

Royal also does a lot of the short cruises in Asia and Europe. NCL, Celebrity, and Princess offer good long itineraries in those markets in the mid range price.
To be honest Carnivals Europe cruises are decent. They are on a old ship, but at they are all 8-12 nights with decent ports. Disney needs to put two ships in Europe one for the locals and one for the rest of the world that wants to go on long port intensive cruises.

I agree. I would love to see two Disney ships in Europe. We have been sailing to Europe with DCL since 2007, and have done all the itineraries except for Iceland. We wanted to go back to Greece again this year, but the dates don't work for us, as our son is a teacher and he is joining us. I did some research and found a 7 night cruise on Celebrity (The Best of Greece). It stops at Santorini, Mykonos, Hydra and Rhodes in Greece, and Ephesus in Turkey. Two new ports for us...Hydra and Rhodes, so we booked it. We have only sailed Disney so this will be new for us also, but we like the ports.

I think it's easier to embark from Piraeus than Civitavecchia. Barcelona is probably the easiest. I'm cruising out of Istanbul this Summer and from what little research I've done so far it looks like a easy, inexpensive taxi ride from the city to the port.

We actually haven’t sailed Infinity but really love M-class ships, the Constellation is our very favorite. Also nice cultural immersion to have a thalassopool while drifting around Greece.
