Anyone looking into this cruise? The stops look good. We've done many Bahamian cruises and one WC one. We're going with my mom and she doesn't want to go to Europe, so this seems like the next best one. Anybody else? I can sacrifice 10 days on the Fantasy very well! LOL!

We've done Southern a few times - twice on the Fantasy and once out of Puerto Rico on the Magic. I know there are sometimes issues with guest behavior, but I've enjoyed all of them. Fortunately/unfortunately, we're hoping to go to Kenya next summer to visit some friends who are stationed there - so no Southern, but I'm pretty close to booking a Treasure with my placeholder as a just in case.

I got this information from others, when I asked about sailing out of SJ in general.... it sounds like, on the 10-day summer sailings, the teen behavior becomes a problem. They explanation is that, given the length, the teens get bored, they get emboldened, and they link up in groups and that mentality takes over. They roam the ship doing mischief. There are reports of thefts, stealing, and even fights. How often this happens on any given sailing is not really known. Also, apparently the parents check out and stop parenting (although that seems to be happening everywhere anyway).

For me, if I was going to do a sailing where this might happen, I'd just prepare myself...decide if I will say something directly, or report it (security will get involved). Decide how much it would bother me. And I'd be careful where my stateroom was (not near the teen clubs and try to be out of the way, like very forward or aft). I probably would not display some of my more special magnets, and I'd be more careful with leaving personal belongings around while going to the restroom or whatever.

I was on this sailing last year. It was great to be on the ship for 10 nights and the new ports were all excellent. Everything said about the out of control teens/young adults is completely true. It is very out of hand and Disney's security officers are limited in what they can do because the parents do not want to involve themselves. Apparently, this 10 night sailing gets a lot of repeat guests from year to year that fall into this category.

People had everything stolen from their doors from magnets, pins, fish extender gifts, etc. There were reports of drugs being dropped into people's fish extenders and security had to get involved. There was trash littering the stairways every nights left by these teens. A lot of the shows had these groups talking, using their phones, etc as well.

This is also a really heavily booked platinum/pearl cruise so it was hard to get reservations and excursions. So be prepared there as well.

I am not saying this to tell anyone to not go on this sailing but you need to be prepared for a different kind of cruise.

Well thank you for the honesty I was considering this cruise and it’s a lot of money for one person and I don’t care to risk not being able to book things ( ran into this on another cruise ) and also have to tolerate unruly young people - yes I know it can happen on any cruise 🚢 but I appreciate your review of this cruise !
