2026 Moonlight Magic Dates Posted! (and additional 2025 dates as well)

Thanks. We only have one contract with the blue card. I have cousins with resale and I didn’t even know they qualified. That’s good to know.
The cousins would only qualify if they also had a contract with blue card.

What stumps people in that case is making sure to use the correct contract number for MM registration. They often assume to use the contract number associated with their blue card, but the actually must use the contract number they have their own personal reservation. If it is the resale, they must use that number and then the system will recognize they do qualify because of the direct/grandfathered contract they also own.

I booked 4 nights at BWV in July for DHS. I was surprised when I checked yesterday that it’s still wide open. I thought rooms got scooped up quick when dates were announced. Registration is June 4 so I have time to cancel if I don’t get it.

Ooh yeah, tough decision.

I was really torn as well. Ended up moving our dates because the Hollywood Studios option seems really fun and we’ve only done 1 MM so far. Figured it was worth a shot.

Hope it all works out great - whichever you decide.

Went ahead and moved the dates. We decided a belated celebration is still a celebration. Sounds like it's a little bit of a gamble even if I set an alarm to get in on the early registration date right as it opens. I'll spend some time leading up to the registration date looking up success stories/strategies to make sure I'm ready to get in.

Good luck! Hopefully our chances are better than they’ve been in the past. The last year or so they cut it down from all onsite reservations to just those booked by the member using their own membership. And now they’ve made seasons, where each membership can only qualify once across several events. I think they’re trying to reduce how many events the luckiest could secure in favor of improving odds a member can at least get one.

Dumb question, but for the November 18th AK MM is that still “summer” season? Also, if I’m checking out of a villa on the 18th can I qualify or do I need to be staying overnight on the 18th?

I’m 99% sure the cluster of AK events at the end of the calendar year are separate from summer season. That’s how it was last year. It did not matter which events members had attended previously, everybody who qualified was eligible to try for one date from the AK set (Oct, Nov, Dec).

Checking out the day of the event still qualifies you. As @Genie+ already noted, the additional DAK event are separate.

From the MM page:
Plus, new Moonlight Magic event dates have been added for 2025 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park on October 29, November 18 and December 15. Eligible Members may register for one of these extra event dates even if they attended a Moonlight Magic event in 2025. See event and registration details below.

It’s been a few years since we’ve registered for MM. Has anyone used a cash room recently? It seems like the wording changed to include only DVC bookings, but now it’s back to all resorts? Is the process different now for registering cash rooms?

TIA

The cash room has to be booked via MS and must be "using your membership," e.g. using the DVC member discount. An ordinary cash reservation booked through Disney Reservations won't count.

Yeah the changes that happened back in early 2024 still apply for which cash reservations qualify. Now it must be an onsite room booked through Member Services, and the only cash reservations MS can book is limited to deluxe villas inventory.

Early Registration for Members with Resort Reservations

Members may have access to early event registration, when they hold a confirmed qualifying Resort reservation* made:
  • by using their Membership with Vacation Points, Reservation Points or cash, and
  • by calling Member Services or visiting DisneyVacationClub.com, and
  • by the Resort reservation/modification deadline.”
All the onsite resorts are listed under that asterisk, but that’s because they can booked through the point exchange and that’s now the only way values, moderates or cash side of deluxe resorts can qualify.

A blue card holder staying on another member’s points no longer qualifies either.

A blue card holder staying on their own resale points DOES still qualify, even if that is a different membership number.

—— If anybody has experienced something different than this recently, please share! ——

It seems like the only bookings that qualify are reservations:

A) made through Member Services
B) uses the owner’s membership to make that booking.

A and B both need to be true.

Thank you both very much.
