Somehow, I had forgotten this!

we are not using MMB, since we're there on a weekend, but we will have LL. not so lucky at Aulani. I think we bought the Aulani package (whatever it was) when we last were there, almost 10 years ago.

At Aulani we pay for photopass. It’s so worth it. Much more so than at the parks imo. I got many great photos on the beach. I’m actually happier with my recent aulani photos on the beach than when I hired a photographer when we visited the year prior. Some photos the photopass take aren’t great but you have the opportunity to get so many taken that you can for sure get some good ones.

I’m happy they at least added something to aualni for mmb, I will share my thoughts on the mmb photo in August when we get it.

Question: for one time use points purchased for MMB 2026, is that only for use with my 2026 use year? Or is it based on calendar year? I’m confused when I can purchase with my December use year for my 2026 use year to use the MMB benefit. 7 months out still?

The rules for OTU points did not change so you can purchase them for any trip 7 months or less.

Start with the date of the trip…if the 7 month window opens anytime in 2026, and you have MMB for 2026 you can take advantage of the BOGO free pricing.

OTUP question - I was going to purchase MMB for the BOGO benefit. If I purchase MMB now, can I get the OTUP now and use them for a 2026 trip? Or would I need even be able to purchase the OTUPs until after 1/1/26?

Yes you can buy them and use them now if buying for MMB 2025 but the rest of the benefits will expire soon.

As @Hubalorian mentioned if you buy the 2026 version you won’t be able to buy the OTUP until 1/2/26. I would recommend the 2026 version so the jump the lounge access waitlist benefit will last longer.

You definitely can not use during home resort period.

It will show as a home resort because those points are now in a temporary contract in your account.

But. If you try to book with them, they do not work at all.

Even transferred in points from someone don’t work online in home resort period, except in very limited circumstances.

I believe they updated transferred in points around mid September this year - they can now be used online at the 11 month mark

How does the photo pass / Memory Maker work? Is it only pictures when you’re on the rides? How do you get a CM to take a picture? Anyway to get pics at WDW resorts like SSR? Trying to figure out if it’s worth the $99 as my grands will be 5,3,1 at the time of the trip.

The memory maker covers ride photos and any taken by the Photo Pass photographers in the parks.

You simply tap your Magic Band or Key Card. You also get just ride photos if you buy Lightning Lane, but it doesn’t cover the other ones.

I have never seen the photo pass photographers at the resorts, except at the Grand during December to have it taken with the Xmas tree.

So there isn’t really options to use at SSR. I think it’s worth it so that!

They also used to be in the GCH at PVB pre pandemic but I haven’t noticed them since.

Or…. I also plan to get the AP for a trip starting 1/9/26. Do I need to wait till the 2nd to make this purchase? That’s my LL day, so I’d like to secure the AP ahead of time if possible.

It doesn’t really matter to me if I use the OTUP for the Kidani stay or the AP, but I’m unsure if I’m going to be able to do these things “on time.” Thanks!

You can not access any of the 2026 benefits until January 2nd, 2026 since MS is closed Jan 1st.

We had our pictures taken with at photopass photographer last year at CCV - that was in early October.

Don’t know if that was a one off or if they do come around the different resorts.

Not if you book it during calendar 2025. If you wait until calendar 2026 you can. Alternatively, you can book the stay in calendar 2025 using your owned points. Then in calendar 2026 you can book a 24-point "fake reservation" using OTUP. After you get off the phone, cancel that 24-point reservation---you will have two "extra" contracts* in the relevant Use Year, each one with 12 points. Then, use the Reservation Modify tool to prioritize these two contracts above your owned ones, and that will free up 24 of your owned points for some other use.

(Note to those reading along: this only works for 7-month reservations.)

Yes, you do.

Given your situation, I'd do the fake-reservation-modify thing, instead of calling to buy the AP on your LL day.

Can the discounted 5 day tickets be upgraded to an AP?

OTU points are based on use year, but MMB is calendar year. If I bought into MMB now would I be able to get BOGO OTU points for this use year (up to April) and for next use year (starting in April)?

What other tricks are there to this program?

I called MS today to purchase MMB 2026 and asked questions about how the OTUP benefit works. I thought it may be useful to this thread. Some of what I say may have already been addressed up thread.

Background: My wife and I own jointly Feb and Oct UYs with 150 direct points in each. My wife purchased MMB 2025 back in Jan 2025. That purchase was tied to our Oct UY. We used the 2025 OTUP benefit for a trip in Oct 2025 using Oct UY points, so there were no complications. We also used the priority lounge, and the EPCOT lounge character meet & greet (M&G) benefits. When I called MS on a separate issue before our Oct trip, the CM mentioned I could have purchased MMB on the Feb UY and used the OTUP benefit on that UY as well. That brings us to today.

1) I wanted to know if I could buy MMB 2026 and tie it to my Feb UY today and then apply the OTUP benefit to an early Jul 2026 reservation. I was told that I could purchase MMB 2026 today, but I would have to wait until Jan 2, 2026 to apply the OTUP benefit to my Jul 2026 reservation.

2) The CM did confirm that I could buy MMB and tie it to our Feb UY and my wife could buy MMB and tie it to our Oct UY. That would allow us to purchase 24 OTUP at a discount for both UYs. 48 OTUPs in total.

3) If my wife and I purchased MMB in 2026 (tied to separate UYs), we would both be eligible to use the EPCOT evening M&G and priority lounge access. If MMB is only tied to 1 of us, that person has to be with the party in order for the party to use the benefit.

4) I was told that we can apply the MMB OTUP benefit in 2026 for reservations in 2027. If I bought MMB in 2026 and tied to the Oct UY, I can use the OTUP benefit for any trips 7 months out up to Dec. 31, 2026 (so all 2027 trips that start by July 31, 2027).

5) I forgot to ask this question, so I am assuming the answer... If I tie MMB to my Feb 2026 UY, I can still use the 2026 OTUP benefit for a 2027 reservation 7-months out using Feb 2027 UY points. I just will NOT be able to use the MMB OTUP point benefit for another trip in 2027 using Feb 2027 UY points if I purchase MMB for 2027 against my Feb UY. Do you agree with this?

This is great! I got some great shots with them in their ski outfits recently. Given how long the lines can be for this in the parks, it's a great perk for those who care.

Just so you know,,,when one owner buys MMB and they have multiple UYs, it doesn’t attach specifically to one of the other.

It just means that each of you can use it for different UYs when buying OTU points.

Your wife could have bought them for either but sounds like you wanted them for a trip on the Oct UY.
I bought it and I had my choice of why UY to get my OTU points at the discount.

I wasn’t tied to one specific one. But, when you both buy, then it does allow the unlocking of BOGO pricing in each UY because of both being on each.
