That's actually a really nice perk if you think about it. Have a reservation you have to cancel in the last few months of your UY? Just use those points to buy an AP that you'll have 12 months to redeem. Note to self: consider using direct points for reservations that occur after my banking deadline.

My UY is March, and AP is due for renewal on Jan..

You can buy a new AP voucher whenever you want.

But, the vouchers are only good for one year. If you don’t activate by then, then you have the cash value to put toward a new one.

Still, with a new pass purchase, you can make those points useful up to 2 years later. 1 year to activate + active pass for 1 year after activating. It's definitely a nice feature

Well I would say that is BS.

I have two RIGHT now. One expire in May and one that haven’t been activated yet. The one that’s not active I guess is a voucher.

ETA: I didn’t get any of mine using points.

Sorry that happened, but you received incorrect information. I, for one, purchased an AP with points while I already had an existing and valid AP. Until that AP expired, MDE showed both of them. Never had an issue in buying a new one while the old one is still valid.

That is not my experience. Have had two at the same time before.

One active and one not. Now, you couldn’t add a renewal pass because you were outside the 60 days.

The reason that doesn’t make sense is that you you do a renewal voucher, you do indeed have two in your account.

My guess is it was a misinformed CM.

This is a bummer to hear as we will get 2 passes in June and be out $150 in gift cards that we would have gotten in September . I wish all cast members were properly informed. I asked them to check so they put me on hold only to come back and tell me I could have only one AP on my account at a time

However, there are a lot of owners who don’t even buy APs…while I don’t know for sure, I’d bet more buy tickets instead.

And, maybe that is why we see the WDW tickets have enhanced features.

I think this makes a lot of sense. It's also why Memory Maker is included and a big perk for owners. If you have an AP with PhotoPass downloads the Memory Maker is completely useless. I am not upset about it because I know it benefits other members and I would always rather have more than less perks in the program.

I am sorry this happened to you. You could have even purchased the AP vouchers under different guests within My Disney Experience.

I have an alternate version of myself with my middle name in my profile where I store legacy tickets I don't want used since I don't trust the Guest Relations prioritization of tickets.

You can transfer vouchers and unused tickets between guests.

It's true! I once had a CM tell me I could enroll in the monthly AP installment plan. I am not a FL-resident. I just politely declined and hung up.
