2026 MMB info Announced

Does anyone else think the AP exchange isnt a horrible rate?

I'm considering it since we'll probably have a little bit of extra points and would rather have our APs for the year.

For my wife and I:
929 + tax = 987
987*2 = 1974 = value of 2 sorcerer renewals

1974 - (240 (24 OTU points) + 95 (MMB))= 1639

1639/106 (remaining number of points needed) = 15.46 per point + MMB perks

I know the knee jerk reaction to exchanges is hell no its not worth it but between taxes and time spent trying to rent them out and etc. this has me tempted. It's at least a much better exchange rate than ABD and cruises obviously.

Outside of magical beginnings, it will be the easiest and fastest way to monetize your points. If you’re paying taxes on point rentals, you’ll be hard pressed to come out ahead (and certainly not without more time and effort).

Yep we did it this year and will probably do it next year. I know @Sandisw did too.

Once you have a large number of points it makes it much easier to make the swap. No having to rent out the extra points, mess with taxes, etc. No extra 2k for 2 passes coming out of the budget after dues, etc. After the 24 BOGO OTUPs it takes just over 100 points for 2 passes. No good if you have 150 points, but if you have 500-1000+? Made it much easier to stomach.

I consider my money in the system basically gone so am really just looking at dues now. Paying $8-9 in dues and getting $15ish in a swap seems good enough for me

I’m with you. I did it last year and will do it again this year.

Are we able to buy and use the OTUP for this? If so I wasn’t aware and will definitely do it.

Question from a newbie:

I bought MMB for 2025 for the PhotoPass benefit. We take an extended family trip at Thanksgiving and always buy the PhotoPass just for that trip, so financially getting MMB for that was a no brainer.

Would any of you buy the BOGO OTUP just because, without having a specific use in mind? Make a seven months reservation, cancel, and bank the extra points? Are they that good of a deal?

I realize the answer probably lies in how many points I have, how many I think I’ll need in the coming UYs, and where I’m currently at with banking/borrowing.

Just curious to hear various takes on this, because reading some of the comments in this thread has made me wonder if I may be passing on a benefit to which I already have access.

Yes as long as you will use them, whether for a pass or a 7 month reservation.

Once you have MMB then you are getting those points for $10 each, no extra dues, etc.

If you look at a resale contract aggregator site there is not a single resale contract available that you can get points for $10 per point/yr + dues. And these can be used at restricted resorts and for the pass unlike any resale contract you would buy today. And don't require a large payment (or a financed contract) like a whole resale contract might.

It's a steal of a deal. If they continue to do it, it is almost like getting a small 24 point direct contract for a price cheaper than the cheapest resale contract. The only thing missing is home resort window for those 24 points.

I'm going to get them every year, even if I don't need them.

I'm worried that if people keep pointing out the value DVC will take it back.

Thanks for your response. I think it’s just the 7 month window that would have me hesitating for now… Looks like I need to engage in some trip dreaming and scheming to decide! 😁

Hi.. My current sorcerer pass is valid until Jan 4/26; I have a hotel reservation on Dec (made with direct points UY Feb that can’t be banked)…

Can I buy MMB now, cancel that hotel reservation and use it to renew the pass? Or does the MMB calendar year have to match the UY or the AP in any way?

Thanks!

I think you have to wait until it is 60 days from expiration. So early November. But at that point I think you can use the points and renew the pass.

Though to get more out of MMB I would probably wait until next year's MMB is up for purchase, buy that and use it in early January to renew the pass before your points expire at the end of January. Then you get a whole year of MMB instead of just a couple months.
