Samesies.well, this was a likely "no" from me for 2025, and those dates clinched it
OnceUponaMarathon speculated the graphics looks like the Simpsons. That would be a definite no for me. I don't have anything against the Simpsons, but they aren't Disney. I know they're an acquired IP, but they're not Disney.I like the artwork but I can understand the vibes it's giving aren't for everyone. Any slueths with guesses for themes? The sun instantly reminded me of Rapunzel but that definitely isn't her sun so I doubt that's the case. I can sort of see the Toy Story that @jmasgat mentioned.
Ultimately, it really won't matter to me as I'm not going to register regardless. It's just fun to guess. Unless they do actually change to a night race, in which case I would move the sun and moon to be there![]()
This, I didn’t even realize the dates until catching up on this years thread. I really wanted to do MCM, now I’m not sure what to give up. Probably will at least book DVC in a few weeks to give myself more time to decideUnfortunately, it's now the same weekend as the MCM 50th anniversary. Decisions, decisions.
Definitely not a thing anymore, unfortunately.Crazy question: my last RunDisney event was 2004. Back then there were hotel discounts for runners. Is that still a thing? I just looked at the hotel rates for race weekend and even the moderates are over $450 a night. I know it's been 20 years so probably no discount, but I'm hoping... ?
You say that, but a Treehouse of Horror themed race may do well.OnceUponaMarathon speculated the graphics looks like the Simpsons. That would be a definite no for me. I don't have anything against the Simpsons, but they aren't Disney. I know they're an acquired IP, but they're not Disney.

Who's signing up to be the Kang to my Kodos???but a Treehouse of Horror themed race may do well
I do wonder why they changed it. I haven't been down for Wine and Dine in a bit, but every time I did this race years ago, the parks felt reallllly busy. Jersey Week, Halloween, Election Day school holiday, Veterans Day... all of these tend to surround Wine and Dine weekend. Maybe they reevaluated their historical resort occupancy and determined that first weekend in November was already busy enough.
There is also some speculation they wanted to get it away from the NY Marathon so people could participate in both.
