2023 Point Charts Released

I know this is for 2023, but just noticed they added the resort studios at VGF to the 2022 chart as well. Is that new too?

WOW VGF2!!! Just plain old resort studio! No theme park view??? Exact same chart. Interesting choices here.

I guess my dream of club level is dead. And there’s no point hog park view!!!

I’m a VGF owner, and I’d take the two real beds over the kitchenette I don’t use. This is awesome for me.

This is also awesome for waitlist. This will be A LOT of rooms in the same category, like poly standard.
Theres a TPV for resort studios, costs more than a deluxe.

I have 3 Fixed/Guaranteed Weeks at CCV (44/runDisney, 47/Thanksgiving most years, and 48/holidays) that each cost 118 points to purchase -- which included a 10% premium at the time the resort opened.

In 2023, those same weeks are now:
44: 123 points
47: 127 points
48: 118 points

These shifts in point charts means I'm no longer "paying" a premium on my FW, and I "get" 14 points in 2023 if I keep/use those weeks.

If you buy a fixed week, is the points purchased based on the year chart you buy? Does the week start Fri, Sat or Sun?

It is newly updated. When they build a new resort or in this case a bit differently - added a new room type then they have had to update already existing charts.

If I was a VGF owner this would pee me off. Once it’s newness has worn off, new buyers will get less for more or the same- no mini kitchen etc. I forsee many chasing the superior current DVC rooms with the kitchens in, thus placing more pressure on rooms original members were sold.

I'm retaining hope that they actually have plans for a microwave and a toaster along with the cooler and the coffee maker. It would then appeal to a broader base than just those looking for 2 full time real beds.

It's the year that the resort opened - so if you buy a fixed week NOW, you can still buy a fixed week on the original week cost.
I'm KICKING myself for choosing to get 2 small RIV contracts (to pass on to the boys) rather than a FW there. The FWs for the fall are 130 points, and those same weeks now cost 139 to book. Week 49 - which we also considered - costs 122 for the FW, and 123 now to book.

Note that the reverse can also be true: if point charts go DOWN, your FW cost remains the same.

Just to add for others, it is only a real benefit if you will use it as a fixed week, even occasionally.

However, anyone buying now who thinks they would, its a great option since some weeks are already more so it’s a win when you will stay 7 days.

We opted not to get because we don’t travel a full week ever so it didn’t make sense.

As a Poly owner. It annoys me that the underutilized/overpriced bungalows likely will continue to screw me over the next 40 years

Excuse my ignorance on this subject, but are you wanting the bungalows to be cheaper and studios to cost more? Hopefully will be a poly owner soon, so interested in the perspective.

This is a very interesting option, that I didn’t realize was possible. It would be a reason to look into buying direct when VGF2 starts selling. I’m sure the weeks will start at 150 pts, so would be blue member as well, and could book RIV, if we didn’t use fixed week.
I’m on the west coast so having something booked without getting up in the middle of the night is very appealing, and worth a couple of points!😀

I cant speak for the Poly but as a Copper Creek owner, I’m thankful for the high points chart for the cabins because it makes the studios, 1 & 2 BRs cheaper on points

No. The issue with the bungalows is that they represent millions of points owned by people who want to book studios, not bungalows, and are competing with each other to book. That can mean some owners are shut out at very popular times of year. CCV has a similar problem - the cabins represent millions of points, but many CCV owners want to book studios, of which there are relatively few. The competition for CCV studios in December is so intense that many owners start walking weeks in advance.

No I meant when was the resort rooms added, was that today too or been up a while on the 2022 chart?

I was going to ask the same question as the person you responded to. Is it really that much of an issue at poly though? I’m able to book poly at 7 months pretty regularly so I was under the impression that wasn’t the case? Definitely not to the level of CCV

I’ve only booked Poly once, so I have no direct experience, but my impression is the same as yours, that Poly isn’t that hard to book. It’s definitely not like CCV!

This does make me wonder if the FWs you can purchase when it goes on sale follows the same costs as the VGF1 weeks, or will follow the VGF2 charts.

Still, I agree with you about the ease being worth it -- I was fortunate enough to be able to buy in during the 2020 incentives, so I got a very good direct rate on my FWs. And not having to fight the "fall frenzy 8am dash" or walk a reservation for weeks to get those bookings is definitely a large reason as to why we got them, even if we don't plan on really using them till both of the kids are in college.
