.....................

ugh...I know the feeling. I opened the mail yesterday and found DH's car insurance notice showing an increase in the monthly automatic deductions from our checking account. Apparantly for some reason that I can not yet figure out, his insurance increased over $1000 during the middle of the policy period :confused3 The payments are now triple what they should be :scared1: The office was closed by the time I got my mail and now I have to wait until Monday to find out why the rate went up. :headache:

I thought everyone's health insurance hiked this year? I know ours did. Better than nothing, so we keep on paying!

well, on the bright side gas prices continue to go down.

Isn't it amazing what the gas prices are now? Friday I saw prices that started with $1 and I could hardly believe it.. I rarely ever buy gas though, so I don't gain much in that area.. It must be a great relief to people who do use a lot of gas though.. :)

Everyone's expenses are going up.....

my teenager is getting older, thus I am throwing more money

my son is almost a tween (little more time) and thus needs to be cool so again THUS needs more money

and THUS I am going broke..... (using enough THUS's)

Dh was told 2 wks ago that the company that his employer has insurance through is raising rates $125 per person per month! His ins. is currently free, but the boss didn't know if it would continue to be. He also pays for both kids on his ins, because mine is ridiculously high for very low benefits (he has a copay-I don't! I pay the full amt until I hit my deductible). So if he only has to pay for their increase it will cost us an extra $250 a month, and we have another baby on the way! I honestly don't know what we'll do. I can't switch them to my insurance until August (new school year-I teach), so we'll be screwed. We are waiting on the board to meet and decide what to do about his company's ins. I'm trying not to worry, because it is totally out of our control.

Ouch! That's really rough.. :( I hope that somehow you can come up with a solution..

We are both retired but still under 65 and not eligible for Medicare. When I retired 8 years ago I opted to be covered on DH's plan...It was reasonable.
Last year it increased to $271 per month. I got the open enrollment letter on Nov 15th and almost died. It increased to $660 per month for employee +1 coverage. I then had to rush my open enrollment forms from my prior company over to HR and hope they take it 2 days late. Their cost is $527.40 per month for EE+1 coverage. This means we have to go from Cigna HMO to Horizon Blue Card PPO with smaller copays but a deductible for hospital. You just can't win.

Yikes!! I wonder what that is about? Did he have an accident or something?

[/B]

nope, no accidents or tickets (except for a parking ticket). I can't figure out what happened. The only thing I can think of is that when I called to add DD to my policy, they added her to his instead or in addition to. I have no idea :confused3 I am not very happy
