Yes.

One possible thing to consider is that in 2019 (the only year OBB existed), DCA could be a ghost town on party days because no one wanted to "burn" a ticket on an early closure... and that was back when APs were in full force. It's possible that the party days might be VERY light crowds at DCA, and they've usually opened at 8am those days, so you might get a solid 7 hours of "pretty empty park." Unfortunately, there's no real way to predict that for sure. But if you're going for a lot of days (like on 5-day tickets or something), it might be worth a gamble.

Yes, good point. I forgot that's what we did in 2019. It seems like an eternity ago! Just hopped over to DL sometime before everyone else decided to hop. Let's hope the light crowd trend carries over to this year too! So let's not tell anyone else this plan.

Does anyone know if DL was crazy busy on OBB nights? This announcement kinda threw a small wrench in our plans, so I may need to move some starting park days around. We are now planning on going to an OBB on our arrival day, which will be nice since it will give us essentially and extra park day we weren’t planning on. I didn’t really want to pay extra for a day we would already be in the park, so that will work out well. I’m a little bummed that 2 of our other days will have an early DCA closure due to the parties, so I’m trying to figure out the best bet for starting parks, or if we should just do more than one OBB night… we‘ve never gone to an after hours party, so don’t know much about them…

Really not interested in a Halloween party at DCA. If it was a Disneyland park itself, I'd consider going!

I originally felt that way but the first year it was at DCA looked awesome!

If I remember correctly, that was an issue in 2019. Parties were only on school nights. This time around they have Saturday parties BUT they are charging a lot for it.

Yea, even $114 is steep for a party. I definitely am not doing it for $169! Too bad!

What perfect timing - my husband and I started thinking about a late September trip and I really wanted to go if there will be a Halloween party. And now this is announced- yeehaw!

We will go on a Tuesday in September to get the best price compared to October- the hotels are cheaper in Sept, we can get the cheaper party tickets, and we'll use that 3-day California ticket promo before it expires on 9/30. This will still be an $$$$ trip as it all adds up, good lord, so I'll take any savings!!

We scheduled a DL trip in September with the hope that they would skip HMH for one year because my DH does not like not being able to experience normal HM during Halloweentime. Alas, no luck there, but we can do one of the $114 Oogie Boogie Bash nights. We were going to start purchasing/reserving everything tomorrow when the credit card turns over, so this announcement is good timing. I just hope booking goes easier than the reports for WDW's Halloween thing since we can do it online.

I have a trip the weekend of sept 10-13. Didn’t expect this to be happen but hope we can get the tickets for either the Saturday or Sunday as this is our first trip to Disneyland and have never done a paid event

previously you could enter either park up to 3 hours before party start time.The last time we went was 2018 so maybe it wasn't a parkhopper in 2019.

I believe this change was made when they moved the party to DCA in 2019.
