2019 Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Thread. Now with extra BAM!

My husband and I attended the dessert party on Nov 12th. We've attended most of the dessert parties except the Frozen one. I found this to be by far the best one. You have to understand we were looking to have a good time and get in the Christmas spirit, nothing more. I think Hollywood Studios now has Magic Kingdom beat when it comes to Christmas decorations. The location of the party was fabulous. There were so many beautiful Christmas decorations and classic carols playing. We sat at table 25 with a head on view of the Christmas Tree in the lake. We checked in around 6:45 and were told to come back around 7:15 to get in line to enter. There was an orderly line when we returned which we joined and entered the party. Each table had a time to meet Chip and Date and we had no trouble at that time. Don't worry about trying to be one of the first 10 parties to check in to meet Chip N Dale early. There was never a long line and you won't have any trouble at your assigned table time. The drinks and food were wonderful especially the Gingerbread Martini. Around 8:25 they took us over to the viewing area. We were able to get near the back. We have to stand because of hip and knee issues and didn't want to block anyone who wanted to sit. Thank goodness this wasn't an issue as most everyone stood up once the show began. It's a little close for some but we were OK with it since we were at the back of the area. All in all, we had a great time and I highly recommend it.

How would we request to have our parties seated together? I am traveling with another family, they have their own reservation for 3, and I have a reservation for 5. Our resort reservations are linked in MDE, but not sure if that carries over to dessert party reservations.

The best thing you can do is call Disney and make the request just to make sure.

one day I’m going to find one of these desert parties that are worth it to me....one day! Never ever had an issue viewing this nighttime spectacular, and I have to say it’s one of my favorites!

Can you get a gingerbread martini anywhere in the park outside of this that sounds tempting.

For me, this party is about the party, not the viewing. It's really a fun time.

Calling may or may not work, so I would go to the check-in podium about 45 minutes before the start of the party and check. If it hasn't been done you can request that it be done. They will take care of it before the party starts.

We do dessert parties quite frequently, and find value in them. If we didn’t have the budget they would be some of the first things to go, but since we do we really enjoy them. I like the atmosphere and experience, the JBJB one is excellent for this. We also do like the food, both desserts and apps, we often pretty much make it our dinner and don’t eat a “real” dinner earlier, unless there’s an experience we don’t want to miss (this time we’re doing a candlelight professional lunch first, then the JBJB dessert party to really maximize the Christmas on our Disney day while at USF). However, the most important to us is guaranteed viewing in a decent (or dare I say good) spot without stressing (much) or waiting. I hear you that you feel you get equal spots without paying. Well, we like to know we will without having to strategize or go early or keep an eye on the crowd or anything. We can go a tad early if we want to choose our spot in the reserved area, or we can just walk up before the start and know we’ll have a view. We’ve done it both ways and it has always worked out well. So it’s like buying insurance for being sure the night goes really well and we see the show with less stress- plus we get desserts and any other benefits that particular party may have!

I’m very glad everyone doesn’t love them-it means they don’t usually sell out right away and we can still book them even if we don’t plan the trip months and months out 😊.

Literally just got back to our room at the Boardwalk 30 minutes ago after the JBJB Desert Party and I have to agree with this statement. For those that haven't been you can easily walk up to the front and get basically the same view as the paid view for free. Unlike HEA where paying for a reserved spot is actually worth the money.

That being said, as an early poster mentioned, its absolutely beautifully decorated at HS this time of year. It feels very festive. And the tables laid out around the lagoon all have amazing views. The food is pretty good(I still like HEA's food better). And of course unlike HEA, theres alcohol!

Do this one because you WANT to attend a desert party. DO NOT attend this one if you are trying to buy your way into a better view. Its not necessary and the view area is just an elevated concrete area you're corralled into, unlike the grass area at HEA thats comfortable to sit in.

Good points and thanks for the review. The one common thread from most reviews is that all seem to agree that the new seating area by the lake is a definite improvement over the old location by the theater.

Mmmmmmmm....gingerbread martini.
What. Okay I've never done a fireworks party but there is a gingerbread martini??? I came here to see if you folks could convince me to see this show (which I have stubbornly missed so far) and that might've done it lol.

I'm there for it 12/5, RotR be damned. And by it, I mean the party (especially the gingerbread martini) with the show being the bonus XD

It looks like such a relaxing dessert party. Plenty of space and good food...not to mention the gingerbread martini and other adult beverages.
I haven't seen the new location yet but the former location was very tight especially when I went from table to table handing out the ornament, and I'm a small guy. I'll be able to check it out in a couple of weeks.

Here for this! We booked this for early December and trying to decide whether to keep it or not.
Same here, but not because we don’t want to go but because we only have 1 day and a Christmas party at Disney during our US trip and if we do the candlelight professional lunch package and this that will be most of Our day, and the kids won’t be thrilled with that 😊
If you decide to cancel will you PM me? I didn't realize this was completely sold out (I've never gone to a dessert party before) and I'll be there the first week of December. I got all excited after reading reviews from you guys. :( I'm solo so if anyone has someone drop out of their party let me know!

I was just able to book this for Dec 1, after I booked it I checked and there’s still a couple spots left, if that would work for you.
