2018 HHN

After reading in multiple places that Uni isn't really any more crowded on the weekends, I'm thinking Thurs Sept 20-Mon Sept 24th now. HHN with on the 20th and 23rd with RIP on the 20th. Should be among the least crowded HHNs and regular park hours for the season.

How long does HHN usually run until? I can't find anything conclusive by Googling. I'm hearing 2am some nights?

Last time, I had a reservation at Finnagans for 4PM which is inside the holding area. I showed my ticket for HHN and they gave me a wrist band right there at the door. We ate, checked out and they were letting us out of the holding area by 5. We were able to do two houses before others were allowed into the park. We did use our Express passes however because the lines were building quickly with Stay and Scream people. We were allowed into Walking Dead as visitor number 6 and 7. If we would have gone into the regular line, we would have been about 60 people back.

Friday and Saturday hhn is over at 2:00 am
Some sundays can have the 2:00 or 1:00 am closing
All depends on the date

Thursday usually 1:00 and Wednesday can be midnight depending on the date

I hate to mention time closings as UO will decide that as time goes by
Each year I notice changes from past years

Do check out the dates that sold out last year
Very crowded on some dates

Last year some dates in September had crowds for hhn

Public rip hhn tours will save you from any long wait for a house

Stranger Things will likely bring a bunch of brand new folks to HHN (Walking Dead did this too, but many of them kept coming). I'd expect the crowds to be beyond insane this year (even by horror nights standards). So the RIP tours are highly recommended, particularly if you only have one night. I'm also quite positive all the on site hotels will book up for many of the nights, even with the addition of Aventura this year.

When you are in the park before the park closes to the general public not attending HHN, you are ushered into a holding area........there’s one around Finnegans and another at the Simpsons.......basically you are held there till the houses open.

They let folks in the holding area into usually two houses per holding area before the crowds come in......you can usually do two houses without EP and then do them again later in the evening.

It’s worth it if you are going to be in the parks during the day before HHN.

We don’t do them any longer as we go so many nights, but it is ideal for some.

OK, i see what your saying. We use those the first night, had a bad experience last year. Was in line for the Shining and fire alarm went off. Ended up screwing us, everything had a 40 min wait by time they told us it wasn't reopening anytime soon.

That's a good plan though, thanks for the info.

In all past years, I bought the FF pass with express
And book a private tour on the weekend

Just my style for hhn

The line waits can be very long depending on the popularity of the house

I'm sure this has been answered, but in previous years could you use the RIP Tour pass to go back and do a house another time as an express, once the tour ends?

No, but you can use it as an Express Pass for rides.

Now I'm thinking of doing Oct 30-Nov 3 now. I know, I'm crazy and keep changing my mind. But September in Orlando is ridiculously hot and humid for me. Seems like those days might be a bit more crowded, but at the cost of my sanity (and I can always buy an EP- plus I plan on doing an RIP Tour at least one day). Only problem is JetBlue has not yet released flights for those days yet, so I think I will wait to book the hotel until then. Should not be more than a week or two before they're released.

That's a bummer...

Still considering doing the tour. We are most likely going the first weekend, 14-16. Possibly going the 14th and the 15th, but most likely just the 15th.

Planning on staying at Hard Rock so we can "stumble home", lol

When on a public rip hhn tour, you have to stay with the group

You hit all the houses and walk through all the scare zones once as a group

If time is available in your tour, possible all do the same ride

The ep will allow you a one time usage for all 6 rides that are opened

Make sure rooms are available for the hotel you want before you book the flights

I book room early to get the better prices and can always modify the rooM rate later

Then I book my flights
I’d rather save money on the hotel portion of my trip than the flights

If I had waited until today to book my room, it would have been 1k more

And this time I booked much earlier than usual for my flights
Trying Delta for the first time and see prices go up and down with them.

I’m good with what I booked at.

It ran cheaper for me than using SW for this trip

I'm not too picky, going to go for Cabana or Aventura. There's still plenty available right now. Going to book as soon as Jetblue gets off their butts. For me flights are the bigger concern in terms of expense. I can't imagine that the hotels will sell out in the next couple of weeks.

Eh, decided to go ahead and book anyway for those dates. Went with Aventura- $50 dining credit for the same rate as Cabana Bay, and the dining options look intriguing. I also think the calm, modern setting might be more my speed.

Aventura looks a lot nicer than Cabana Bay.........

It does look lovely......hope you enjoy it........
