2017 WDW Dining Plan Info

I just tried to look online but the dining plan site wouldn't open...it just opened to a blank page so maybe they are working on it right now. I am curious to see if they will continue to offer the deluxe plan as well, but I did notice on that PDF for the regular dining plan the only character dining attraction that they say is 2 credits is CRT which it has always been that way. I am glad to see Chef Mickeys and Tusker House will remain as 1 credit venues. I thought it was ridiculous everyone was saying that they are going to 2 credit meals. Maybe that is just for the holiday season? I am assuming that if they are still offering the deluxe meal plan that it will be the same credit wise as the regular dining plan...I will try and find out tomorrow what the 2017 dining plans will look like.

EDIT: Never mind.

Is this the only plan that will be offered in 2017? No more deluxe, platinum, etc.? TIA
It will probably be updated since this is brand new. Usually the first version isn't the final version because restaurants are always added and such. I would imagine the deluxe and platinum are still going to be offered.

I would be ok with skipping desert if they lower the price. But I am sure that won't happen.

Holiday season or not, the window for making that change should have closed. No excuse for customers not to know the TS credit cost at the time they book, and a change should darn sure not overlap free dining. Most of the best options are filled, so it is not as simple as if you don't want to pay 2TS, choose another restaurant. Overlapping free dining would almost be textbook bait and switch since that is the principle component of the offer. Offer something to get a customer to buy and then reduce what they get after you have their money. Make the parent look bad to their kids if they cancel package. It would be a sleazy used car salesman type move and would certainly diminish my opinion of Disney.

Just looking at the DDP brochure PDF for 2017 - Am I reading it correctly that Tiffins will be 1 TS, rather than 2? And Tusker House isn't listed under Table Service restaurants - I know they add restaurants as contracts are signed, but Tusker House has been 1 TS forever, hasn't it? strange.

EDITED: oops - Sorry, I see BMWTeamLeader already posted about Tiffins...and Tusker House IS listed under Character Buffets (Didn't Donald used to only be there for Breakfast? Now all day?)...wish we could delete a post when we find out what we posted was incorrect.

I'd personally be very happy if Tiffins comes down to 1 credit. If this happens before August 20th, we'll definitely be there for our trip. I could see three reasons for this:
1. It's a mistake.
2. It's not as successful as a signature as they hoped
3. With Yak and Yeti off the list, they needed a table service option.

Just read that the main difference in allotments 0n the 2017 plan is that desserts have been removed, but now all three, (QS, DDP, Deluxe) all have 2 snacks instead of one. And apparently if you really want a dessert, you can use one of your snack credits along with the meal credit. I wish they would have made it so you could exchange the dessert for an appetizer instead...but there it is.

I'm going with #1

No dessert, but 2 snacks per day instead of one.

I was bummed to read they took away the dessert. Even though we don't really enjoy the dessert but more the fact they were taking something away. Now I'm super happy to read they're making it 2 snacks instead of 1. That's awesome! I believe most of the dessert items are snack items also but we have a choice in how we want to use that credit. Yea!

If this is correct what you are saying is:

- DDP the QS credit no longer has dessert but plan has additional snack. That is an equal or better for value and I am very good with that. One of my DDP complaints was the forced QS dessert which I never want and usually a mass produced blah item.

- QSDP loses 2 desserts and gains 1 snack so that would be a loss. I don't care about no dessert but wouldn't be happy about a loss in value.

- Tiffins has to be a mistake, has to be based on what it is offering. And if it is 1 then they made a terrible call on that, and if it is a glaring typo error HUGE mistake and just another example of sloppy work.
