2017 WDW Adventure Info

Well, this is disappointing news. I'm guess I'm the odd man out as I was really excited to see the addition of the WDW Backstage Tour and planned to do it in the Fall of 2017. We took the California BM @ 5 years ago and had a great time. I had asked the Guides if there were plans to add an Florida version and even suggested it on the comment card when they asked for future ideas.

I do agree the pricing is very steep. When we go to the World, we stay 7 nights/days, Deluxe, have Table Service for Breakfast and Dinner, add airfare and we're still short of what it costs for two people on this trip. I was thinking maybe they were adding in the cost of "extras" that weren't mentioned in the planned itinerary. During our California BM trip, we had a few surprises that weren't listed in the itinerary, so maybe that's the case here. Since the first tour hasn't happened yet, it's a big unknown. 2017 is a big year for us, our 25th Anniversary and a 50th Birthday, so I figured it was worth the splurge for the trip.

I really don't know what I'm going to do. Waitlist is not my idea of having a vacation booked. I generally book my WDW vacations 9 months to a year in advance. You need to do at least 6 months out, just so you can make your ADRs.

I talked to a vacationista today. She said that they are revamping the itinerary for 2017, and she believes the dates will open again soon.

She couldn't provide me any additional data, but she seemed confident that the 2017 dates are happening.

I hope they make it shorter, less expensive and with backstage insider stuff that doesn't even sound remotely like anything we have done already. Not that I need another ABD to add to my list

Well, some of the dates opened up again. No real changes to itinerary that I noticed.
The biggest change is that there are a lot less dates.
Price seems same too.

Well, it looks like they removed the Florida trip completely from their website.

Hope they bring it back eventually.

Something about Florida swamp day or whatever it was called had me picturing sweaty hot with July dates, parasailing etc with bugs... I can't believer that would be appealing to someone. We go to WDW every April and June and June is hot so I can't even fathom this tour in the summer. I was potentially interested in it say when SW LAnd would be done and Rivers of Light and the new AK section. Too bad they didn't hold this trip for that....that would entice me. Anything they are offering on that trip has been around too long....

All dates for this Adventure have been canceled for 2017.

Whether is returns for 2018 is to be seen.
