I would guess this gives them more freedom for using different princesses every year.

Sounds like it would give them the opportunity to tune the challenge name to the focal princess of the year the way the 5k and 10k are. Like for a Belle weekend it might be the Enchanted Rose Challenge, or for Moana, the Heart of Te Fiti Challenge. The medal too maybe. Sounds cool- I thought the seashell shaped 10k medal for Ariel weekend last year was the prettiest medal of the bunch.

That was an awesome 5k. We did a light run, mostly walking, and took a LOT of pictures. The costumes were amazing too - we saw a father / daughter combo dressed as Shark Maui and Moana. Used them as pacers and sort of just enjoyed the moment.

I can't wait to see how the pics turned out. Especially since Dopey made an appearance. And now we sleep until lunch time.

They were putting up the 10k banner as I was leaving this morning!

I stopped for all the photos except for the mile markers. Wasn't paying attention and saw them as I ran by and didn't want to cause a collision turning back for them. I was just going over my Garmin data and I finally ran a sub 30 minute 5K. My actual running time was 29:47! I've never run a 5K in less than 30 minutes.

I was a bit annoyed with the amount of people walking with their phones glued to their faces. Texting, facebook, surfing the web.....

First Disney race in the books and I'm OBSESSED lol. Already having fomo cus I'm not doing the half lol...wish I timed my actual running. I stopped for every photo so my finish time was over an hour but I was flying through the course! Or maybe it was all the walkers that just made me feel faster lol either way I can't wait for the 10k tomorrow morning!
