2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I'm not there. I just mowed my lawn plus an additional hour of yard. My flight doesn't leave until tomorrow afternoon.

Plus I'm not really into "stuff" so I don't plan to spend on "merch".

I was going to take my point and shoot camera, but it has already moved to our new house. Oh Well.

Just checked into the GF. I dropped my bags, parked my car and got my room ready text as I was walking into the lobby. Just grabbed some lunch at the food court and I'm going over to the expo. I really hope the crazies have moved on by the time I get there.

I just saw a picture on Facebook of a person who had at least 25 shoe ornaments and at least 25 pins in their basket.

I wonder if it's the same person. I tried to get a picture of her basket without being too obvious, but they all came out blurry.

It's really not fair to those who do want the stuff and can't get there on the first day

I wonder how crazy it will be tomorrow morning. DD and I get in first thing and were going to check in to our hotel and then head over there. Hope it's not too bad.

Well a few strollers for spectators.. we are crazy tight time wise so for the 5k since our childcare fell through so get to use the newborn as a 'baton' from my husband (not running and has to be to work by 7 for an important day) to a fast friend who should be finished by 630 and me & my group who should be done closer to 715..

Haha. Just like the olympics, make sure not to drop that baton!

My friend with me thought they'd never let that person buy that many. She was shocked when I told her there's no number limit on purchases.

I am surprised runDisney doesn't put like a limit on things. Even if it was a higher number like 10 or something.

I just picked up my packets and in line now for a magnet and the long sleeve white shirt. It's not to bad.

I preordered a jacket. Wow do they run small. They let me exchange for a medium so I'm a happy girl.

Disney is in the business to make money. They moved the Princess Half from March to Feb. on the back side of a holiday weekend. More runners at a higher price for accommodations. The don't care who buys the stuff as long as it sells. Not to be bitter...I am not. One just has to understand the motive, which is money and I don't think they care who buys it. There are people on the course that have no business being there...it is not healthy. There is a right way to get healthy and a wrong way. I am glad they have sag wagons to pick up those that can't finish. I understand that injury happens, bad day etc. but Disney also know they sell slots to people who just want the medal and shirt and they will sell those slot to generates income.
We all have our own motives...mine is to stay health and winter is a time I find it hard to get out in the cold so having this on my calendar motives me to workout until warmer weather arrives and then I love getting out for long walks.
Disney is about profits...just saying.
I hope everyone can get out and enjoy the weekend...warm weather and no work schedules etc.

Totally understand why they don't given they want to sell out but you would think they'd know to order more stock of things that sell out crazy fast and get scalped on ebay.

You don't have to tell me that I know and completely understand. However I'm fairly certain the stuff will still sell and sell well if you put a limit of say 10-15 on some items like pins or the ornaments.

I'm not going to get into the rest of your post that's a whole other topic.

I saw the picture of shoe ornaments & some pins in a basket on facebook too, nuts! I thought pins had a limit of 2 per person of each type since they are limited release? or is that a false memory?

I have to say I love the 5k Chip stuff, it's soooooo cute!

I agree but think there more than bottom line. Disney gets a lot of social media time from all this too.

Again it comes down to motive and we each have our own. It's just sad some ones motive has to spoil some ones else joy of getting a magnet or whatever.
Now is the time to celebrate the accomplishments many of us have worked for for months. Memories are something we can hold onto long after the stuff is gone.

I typically get to the Princess expo on the second morning and it's never been too bad. I'll be there tomorrow morning too... if I can roll out of bed after my 11pm flight arrival.

There should be a 2 per person limit on some of the stuff. I couldn't care less about most of the merchandise, but I understand it's important to others. unfortunately resellers would find a way around that as well, but maybe it wouldn't be as bad.

Has anyone been by the runDisney booth to see if they're offering any kind of discount or incentive for signing up for future races that haven't sold out? I'm still crossing my fingers for a discount on the Infinity Gauntlet Challenege.

Just picked up my stuff from the expo and somehow I'm in corral A for both the 5k & 10k (I'm not doing the half)...I'm kinda freaking cus I really don't feel like I'm corral A material....at least there shouldn't be long lines for characters? Idk...anyone else in A??

Counting down the hours till we get to head to Orlando! Excited to hear about all the expo stuff! I'm hoping there will still be some stuff left by the time we get there Saturday - but I'm not really planning on much, maybe a magnet or car thing I'm mostly just excited about my race shirt!
