If there is an early release for DV you must call Disney. You cannot book online early for an early DV release.
I should check the DV rewards "Special offers" before calling Disney at 7:00am? I usually don't receive the Email notice from Disney Visa until later in the day and by then it could be to late.
Last time we booked FD was in 2014, forgot all the details and craziness. thanks

Yes, you could check that but I'd pay attention to this thread. If there is an early DV release you will find out about it for sure here.

Even under limited time offers on the VD site, free dining doesn't always show up early in the day. If you hear that 4/25 or any other date is definitely the day for DV, call at 7:00am. If the CM says there is no deal, have them check, be persistent, the CMs are not always up on new deals.

Since FD is so crazy on the day that it is release, Disney should release it by months over 3 different days. Like August/September on Monday, Oct/Nov on Tuesday and Dec. on Wednesday. That would help us, the website, the phone lines and the CM out a lot. :)

Question for those that have done FD & split stay.

One post said 11/11 was a potential free dining date. I know 11/15 was more frequent, but I check out the 14th so I'll assume the 11th qualifies in this hypothetical scenario.

My fixed dates would be 11/9 - 11/14.

11/9 I would check in really late to the resort and it wouldn't be a park day. 11/10 we wanted to go to a park.

So my first reservation would be room only 11/9 - 11/11. We always do the dining plan where possible but I think it would be too complicated with the credits expiring at midnight of check out day the 11th. So I would most likely forego the dining plan on the first booking.

Then my second reservation for Free Dining would be 11/11 - 11/14. Since I have to book tickets to get free dining, I would get 5 day park hoppers on this second package.

Can someone confirm that I can visit guest services to activate my tickets from the 11/11 package early to enter a park on 11/10?

But I can't book FP+ for 11/10 in advance, correct? In other words I can only do day of FP+ for 11/10.

Thanks never done split stay. Oh Disney so many complications lol

Waiting for FD is like being in a bad relationship. It keeps you up at night, makes you irrationally nervous, and causes you to sit on edge waiting for it to give you what you need. It gives you the hope of a happy ending, but the rumour mill is always buzzing, and making you question your relationship. FD may or may not show up when it is expected, and it may deliver more or less than you hoped. However, inspite of what it does to your sanity, FD keeps you at it's beck and call.

:rotfl2:Too funny, but, oh, so true!

We have a RO BB in October for an adults only, but I'm watching for some friends and a possible Hail Mary family trip for us and our girls in December!

Most people are saying go online and try to modify, but I really don't know which would be better with 3 rooms. One thing I do know, if you change to free dining, you will have to pay the new price for tickets, so make sure you include that in your calculations.
Thanks for answering!!

1437disney...Tricky with 3 reservations, but not, IMO, unreasonable to update online, assuming you have all 3 families' information to log in MDE to modify the reservations; all depends of course, on resort, dates, etc. But sharonabe is right on that you'll have to consider ticket price increase...for us, it was approximately $120 difference between "last year's" ticket prices and "this year's" ticket prices...(for family of 4, two children in the 3-9 age group)
Thanks for the great info. I just thought we would have to pay the rack rate for the hotel.

I wonder if we can summon @smitch425 to join us???
Hi there. I had surgery to remove a kidney stone yesterday, and am having some lingering issues, but hope to be getting things under control finally. I'm about to go to bed for the night, but I'll check back in tomorrow as long as I can stay out of the ER. It's been a rough week! :faint:

We are booked at a non participating location (Little Mermaid Suite). MDE allows me to currently modify this reservation. IF I DO THIS NOW/TODAY and modify the resort to Caribbean Beach Resort, will I then just be able to call and secure the FD once that promo officially hits. I have read this thread and researched and can't determine the best steps.

BASICALLY:

Why book an entire new reservation if I can simply modify my resort to a participating resort????? That's my confusion. Everyone says to book a new package????

Or am I supposed to wait till the 2 am / 4:30 am time frame when the promo hits and do my modified reservation then.

ALSO:

Can I sign up for the Disney Visa today and still get the early promo? I do not currently have the Visa.

Thanks!!!!!
