Believe me I have tried talking my family into doing offsite and they won't budge. They will have to though if we can't get FD. They may now be open to Universal for a day or two though since the Walking Dead will have an attraction.

BTW, is there any restrictions on bringing food/meals into the parks?
Sorry to tell you that the Walking Dead attraction is at Universal Hollywood so it might be a little far to go :duck:

This is probably a dumb question but what is a Murphy bed??
It looks like a bench with a high back but you can pull it down and it's a bed for a child. Last time we went my 6 year old loved it! If you look on disneys site at POR or CBR at room pics I'm sure one will show them.

I know that the FD dates listed are still just rumored, but having been on these boards for years, the rumors usually end up being true. That being said I am really surprised and disappointed at the blackout dates listed. I am from NJ and have taken advantage of the FD promotion for Jersey week, usually by leaving a day or two early and checking in on the last day before a blackout week starts. The blackouts have typically been the actual Jersey week and Thanksgiving week and some time mid-October for Columbus Day. I looked and the 2015 blackouts were 10/3-10/24, 11/1-11/7, 11/20-12/14. If the rumored dates are true, this is a huge difference in blackout dates, and completely ruins any chance of our family getting FD. Unfortunately that is a deal breaker for my family, since they only want to stay on-site and love doing the DDP. So that basically ruins a fall WDW trip for us.

Any thoughts as to why such a difference in blackout dates, and why they would include Thanksgiving week in FD?

This is also true for my family, I am hoping there are a few added weeks to the rumor or I'm going to have a few disappointed kids.

So, what is a normal room only discount around this time (Late November, Early January)? My parents are Florida Residents, so I just want to see if free dining would even be worth it, but not sure what to compare it to. WE are planning Wilderness Lodge Cabins.

Thank you I think I have seen those on there!

I'm sorry if someone answered this already but IF there is early booking for Disney Visa holders, do the Chase Disney debit cards count? I don't have the credit card but hubby and I both have the debit cards.

Historically, does the UK deal for the next year not come out before the US free dining? As a Canadian who cannot get a dvc, I really hate the early booking. With the garbage state of our dollar, Disney should hit foreign travellers with deals before domestics. Had to contend with the the advancing booking both years we have been to wdw but always managed to get FD, what is the likelihood that UK deal Apr21, US Apr25?

This is my first planned Disney trip - so this is my first go at securing FD - and I am obsessed on this now to secure it! I'm at CBR. So when you say you were up checking all night -
1) where do I need to be checking the MDE site, here, other boards, where? And once I see it, obviously I can't call b/c it will be after hours -
2) do I try and grab it outline through MDE?
When I talked to Disney yesterday it sounded like I had to call them.
3) So does that mean check all night and then wake up ASAP when the phone lines open?
This is what I need clarifications on - exact steps - hand holding steps!!! Thanks!!!!

1. You would be checking the Walt Disney World site, their Special Offers webpage on there. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/

2. You can login and book through the WDW site. It's not really through MDE, but of course you are logged in to the whole site, so kind-of :confused3 Go play on the WDW site, login and play around and price out vacations using one of the special offers on the Special Offers page and you'll see how you do it. Just remove/delete it from your cart when you're done playing. If you are already booked, you can try and modify your current reservation in MDE. If that does not work, you'd have to wait and call in. Or book a new one with FD online, and cancel the other one.

3. Check all night means people keep refreshing the WDW Special offers page. You will see it there probably before you can call in. Phone lines don't open until 7am EST. FD typically goes live online before that. Last year it was earlier than usual. Some are checking at midnight hoping it would be that soon. It could, but based on history it's likely to be between 4am-6am. But if I was checking I'd be looking at midnight on to 7am. Then if it wasn't up then, I'd call in.

We will see a good rumor probably the day before that it is going live the next morning, but checking is smart just in case. Hope this helps you! :goodvibes

This is sad---my dates are not even rumored to be included---they are set in stone so I can't change them. They have never been included in free dining and yet---here I am waiting for the free dining promo to drop. I think I am one sick Disney puppy. I think I need to start a 12 step program to help deal with this free dining addiction I have!!!!
