As a side note, I need to be working on my step-son's projects but I can't stop hitting refresh on the page. I guess I can look at it as practice for tomorrow night. :thumbsup2

We are leaving Fri morn for a long weekend trip to Colonial Williamsburg. I should be packing and planning for that. That poor trip is like the runt of the vacation litter. The big, oversized trip (wdw) keeps laying on the little guy and not letting him nurse on the planning-teat. Thurs night I'll tossing wrinkled clothing into a suitcase all the while refreshing DIS forum pages!

OK true confessions here. My FD frenzy caused me to be unfaithful. Sheer madness is what I'm blaming it on.... Yes, I strayed........
To another forum. :o

There 2 people posted that their TA's hinted that Mon would be the Disney Visa release. Quoting them here. (hope this is not against forum rules)-----
"....mentioned the rumor to my TA, who can't officially confirm or deny whether the "Monday for VISA Cardholders" rumor is true, although she did give me a wink and a smile..."
"That is basically what my travel agent friend said, he said he can't confirm or deny but was shaking his head yes the whole time"

I know credible sources here have forecast a straight to GP release, but now this has got me wondering if a DV pre-release is not entirely out of the realm of possibilities.

We have a CM who we have spoken to various times during this planning. She is a supervisor and trainer of other CMs, she's very good. When my husband spoke to her yesterday, she covertly suggested that there wouldn't be a special DV release, we asked because we are DV members. However, she did imply that DV would enable us to access extra dates that the GP release doesn't include. We don't need extra dates, as ours should be covered, but if it's true then it might help those who are struggling to get their dates! Here's hopin!

See and my TA told me yesterday that "Looks like Monday should be the day" for FD (and also hopefully room discounts)...and I'm not a DV cardholder because I'm in Canada. So much uncertainty floating around!

this would make me happy.
i think i'd feel less stressed if this were the case because not as many people would be trying to book at once.
do you have to call to book if its for disney visa though?

My anxiety level is super high right now over FD.

Our dates are somewhere between 12/13 and 12/22. There isn't a RO discount (yet) and I'm stressing about not getting FD and then there not being a RO discount. If I book on Monday so that all of the rooms don't fill up and we don't end up getting FD, can a RO discount be added later after the reservation is booked?

Also, I know we aren't supposed to ask about other deals outside of Disney but could someone pm me info about this other good deal people are getting? It's just as an option...
Testing testing 1-2-3. Can anyone see this or are all of my questions intentionally getting ignored? I know the page moves fast but the last 3 or 4 times I've posted, I've not gotten a reply. I don't mean to be a bother, I just need to know my options for Monday.

Yes, I've heard for the DV pre-release, you DO have to call. So no 2, 3 and 4am checking the site. BUT then phone lines might still be jammed. I wish we knew for SURE which it will be. But I don't think that will happen until after the promo drops.

I wonder how they know/how we find out the extra dates/choices (if we have a DV).

It would just depend on availability. The thing with promotions is that they don't technically get "applied." You just re-book to a reservation that is allotted to that discount. If you want to just book a room now to make sure you get it, you should do that if you are planning to go regardless of a discount. But it won't affect your ability to get a FD or RO discount down the line, as the original non-discounted reservation will essentially be cancelled (in a way) when you modify to a discounted room.

I don't know specifics on those dates historically, but it's my understanding that if you don't get FD (in the fall), there is always a RO discount you can take advantage of.

Yes, if you book Monday (to guarantee yourself a room should things start filling up), you can always go back and add the RO discount once it's released.

I'm not sure if you've ever been to Colonial Will., but I've been there 3 times with our 8th grade class on field trips and I love it. It is very interactive and educational. We've mushed our bare feet in clay to make bricks, talked to the blacksmith, and had women explain what they planted for meals.

Yes I'm booking regardless but I'm afraid to do it ahead of time and the "modify" button not work and then I have to call. Ain't nobody got time for that! Lol

I'd just wait then if I were you, and try to make the reservation on Monday, assuming that you're somewhat flexible in terms of resort/type of room. If there's a very specific room type and resort you want and you're going no matter what..I don't know, if it were me I'd want to go ahead and book it just in case. But if you're flexible I think wait it out...you're right, ain't nobody got time for the phones!

Our choices are for CBR and CSR. There is 5 of us including a 2 year old so those are really our only options since POR and POFQ are excluded. If we got a value we wouldn't be able to squeeze into the full size beds.
Ultimately I'm hoping for a UOC for POR later.

Question. Our stay is 9/27-10/9 planning on POR. If I can get fed will it be for whole trip?

Hello, new here and had a question? We currently have 4 rooms booked at POR in Sept and with FD coming, hopefully what are the chances of us getting the FD added? I would have my TA do it for me, but would she have to call? I haven't had a chance to ask her..

A List of the extras that you get at a FW cabin for that extra cost (in no particular order)
1. Peace and quiet and privacy
2. A kitchen and dining area
3. 2 TV
4. Kids don't have to share a bed
5. A huge fridge with an ICE MAKER! (One of my personal facorites.)
6. A charcoal grill
7. A porch with a picnic table
8. If the wind blows right, the smell of the horse barn at the bus stop. (This may not be a selling point. :rotfl:)
9. Lots of friendly squirrels :squirrel:
10. Parking at your door.

A golf cart isn't necessary. We found the internal bus system to be very effeciant. We used it before we picked up the cart. But the cart is so much fun!

This will be our 3rd visit. DD15 absolutely loves Colonial American history!! I planned extensively for those two visits .... because we were CW newbies and also "in-between" wdw trips. So the fact that I pretty much have my bearings in the Revolutionary City and surrounding areas and that we will have almost 4 full days there (so will not be rushed), is causing me to be lax about putting much time into further planning. We loved our previous 2 visits (both in 2015) and are happy to see they've added new offerings. So it will be a great trip, I'm sure. Oh and it looks like our weather will be good too!

ETA- we like to call Colonial Willliamsburg, "Liberty Square on Steroids"- haha
