:goodvibes:grouphug:party:Is anybody else looking at everyone's count down tickers to see who their competition is for the FD dates?! I want everyone here to get what they want, but I also am stressing out. I think I aged a year in the last 2 weeks!
I can't believe this could all be over tomorrow. You all have been super helpful and supportive. I hope this thread keeps going on strong as we celebrate that we all got FD!!!!!

The dining lady I was talking to was getting really annoyed. (I have a split stay)

"I have a split stay. Can you just... Do me a solid here?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"On a scale of 1-10, how sure are you?"

Hilarious!

Does anyone know what time to start checking the site for that elusive 'modify' button?

Q: Do you know if the room only discounts will be released on Monday as well? I know they typically are offered around the same time as free dining.
A: They should be, yes.

Is there a secret evil side of Disney that enjoys watching the site crash and the phone lines become so jammed they are virtually worthless, thus causing the heads of those planning wdw vacations to explode?

Hello everyone I can't believe we've lost our internet. My houseguest, who will be taking the trip with us has been kind enough to set up a hotspot for me to check in. Sounds like this is the night and I'm excited. Please correct me if I'm mistaken, as I don't want to "overuse" her hotspot!!

Thank you!!!

Just mimicking that they'll go to families of 5 first, but you can guarantee a pull down bed by booking a preferred room at POR. They all have them. Not sure about CBR.
Oh, I did not know that. We book CBR and add a phantom 5 TH person to guarantee a Murphy bed. I did not know all the preferred rooms have them at POR. Looks like we will go back to POR (if we don't get addicted to POLY This trip.)

Posted this in the first thread, forgot about the new thread!

Do they only have a certain amount of rooms for the RO discount like FD, or if you have a reservation already, are you going to get the RO discount?

They don't "automatically" give you anything. You have to call or modify online to get the RO discount. They're limited as well.

I haven't seen any dates posted in awhile. Have there been any possible changes to potential FD dates or still currently all the same info as has been suspected?!

You can modify your reservation online or book a new one and cancel the old.

I've never done this online modify stuff before so feeling quite nervous about doing it for the 1st time possibly while my brain is half asleep...(sleepy online behavior = drunk online behavior)
soooo IF i need to book a new one and cancel the old (worst case scenario) I just want to make sure... my existing ADRs will carry over (on MDE) to my new ressies?

While I am learning my way about free dining, I can speak about cancelling your credit cards...don't. If you have the no-fee version, don't touch it. If you have the annual fee version, maybe. Your credit score is made up of many things, but two of the most heavily weighted portions are your length of credit history (how long have your accounts been open?) and your debt to available credit ratio (how close are you to maxxing out all your cards?) while that Disney Visa isn't doing you any good this year toward free dining, it is doing you a LOT of good towards your credit score. If a little petty revenge makes you feel better (it does me LOL), charge all your Disney purchases to a different card that gives you cash back or airline miles or something and get a reward for your spending, but please don't close the card over this. That never used card with the $5000 credit limit (or whatever yours is) counts as length of credit opened and shows responsible use of credit by not using it even though you have it.

Ok that would be great how do I modify to add the FD I already have dining plan booked as well

If you go to your MDE account and click on reservations there should be a chance reservation button. If it says to call try hitting refresh. From there you can select edit your package and then it should give you the option of applying a new discount.

If you don't see the change reservation option after a couple refreshes I would try booking a new one.[/QUOTE]

Its also been posted here that if you don't see your "CHANGE" button and refreshing doesn't work, then try a new browser. (I've no experience with this, just passing on info from others who have)

yes, they will-ADRs are separate from your room res in Disney's System. And don't be scared of it, you can go in and play with the modify/change reservation a little bit to get comfortable with it, it won't actually change your reservation until you go through and confirm, same as regular online booking

I have been paying close attention to everyone's dates. Thankfully I've only seen 1 other person going the same time. I have no idea what I will do with my free time when it's all over! Good luck!

Your ADRs are not tied to your reservation so if you cancel they won't change.

I changed/modified my reservation online yesterday. We upgraded to a mod to get queen size beds, out trip is in October so we're just hoping for a room discount now. But it was easy and our deposit transferred over along with dining reservations. I was a little anxious about it but there weren't any problems!

I can only speak for myself here but canceling one or two cards per year has never negatively impacted our [excellent] credit score. But.... DH and I have a 30 year history of responsible credit use so that may be why. For others, with different circumstances, the impact may be more significant.

I'm going crazy at this point... I've done so much research and figured things out so many times... now my brain is fried and I don't even know answers to what I've known before! So, I'm just making sure... IF the dates are Nov.15-21 and I'm booked Nov. 10th-19th that's a no go because I'm going before the start date right? But if we got there the 15th we would be good.
You could do a split stay (2 reservations) 1st would be room only (pay for the dp oop if you want) 2nd would be the fd reservation with the tickets for you entire stay (8-9 days?). You would just ask for the tickets for the second reservation when you first checkin. I don't think that you'd be able to make fp reservations for the first part of the trip though since the tickets will technically be linked starting at the free dining check in date. Do the math for the split stay vs a room only and whatever discount could apply to that because it may not be worth it
