2016 Free Dining Watch ~ Part 2

One thing of interest that I just noticed in what was posted on Air Canada this morning was that in the initial description it says minimum 3 day ticket but in the details it says minimum 2 day ticket.

Maybe it's STILL a work in progress? But if it is to go live on Monday, you'd think they'd have the details worked out by now... Or maybe it's a recycled announcement from last year with really poor proofreading and updating to the current deals? This kind of thing can slip through... don't ask me how I know.

There was no info to have correct. Visa dates are never mentioned in rumors. It's always been known that IF it's offered, it is the Thursday before a release (if the release is on Monday). In the past, it was a given, up until a couple years ago when they broke the trend of offering to Visa early. It was very clear that there was no leaked info to suggest one way or another....so folks did what they always do and call to check.

It's leading some to question the reason to have a Disney Visa in the first place, since that was always one of the perks.
Oh, I've already made a call into Disney Visa and told cd rep to pass on my displeasure. They told me about all the other perks they had to offer.Sure, but ANY card can offer that stuff, they were the only ones offering an Asearly chance to book THE BEST Disney discount! Lol! Clearly my voice wasn't heard!!!!

Calling and voicing displeasure that there have been no early DV offers is a great idea. Perhaps if enough people cancel their card as a result of this the message will be loud and clear.

I honestly don't understand why Disney isn't like everyone else in the modern world who just announces when all their discounts will be.

The way they do it now encourages rumors, leaks, and speculation....which ties up their phone and website with people checking and not booking. They somehow think they can control the internet, which is never going to happen. All the other theme parks and resorts announce their promotions early and don't hide anything....it's so much easier that way. As with anything, if no information is out there, people will speculate, look for leaks, or even flat out guess. Either way, hundreds of folks calling on Thursday to check did nothing but tie up lines and prevent operators from getting sales.

HOWEVER, I DID notice that the cast members now ALWAYS try to get you to book when you call in, and use the "you can always update your reservation when the new promotions come out" lines. Then you get a follow up email from them with their name and extension number. So I'm thinking they just decided to take advantage of what we FD crazies were doing already calling in and turn it in their favor. I'm willing to bet they have a TON more reservations "prebooked" this year than in the past.
So yeah, I think they don't let us know in advance becUse they actually want all 2,000 people calling in prematurely so they can get them to prebook so they know what dates most people are interested in.

Yes, I had actually called for another reason, but since I had someone on the phone, I figured it would tell her to pass it on. Because yes, I am seriously considering cancelling. It is noty primary card a anyway.

I keep reading different things about the length of days you must purchase on you tickets with the PH or water parks. Do you think it will be 2 days or 3? :(

I think it said 2 days for the values, and 3 days for moderate and deluxe.

EDIT: No, it's the other way around. :)

Some of the CM's are horrible. When I called in on Thursday the CM I had kept referring me to the website. I was getting really irritated and thinking to myself do you think I am that stupid that I am unaware of this.

I think I saw somewhere before that there are only a select number of murphy beds in CBR and POR. I know when I check out, the only thing it asks is if we need a crib. Is there a way to request the murphy bed online or do I need to call for that? I really don't know that the baby will sleep in a pack n play and will probably end up in bed with me. She doesn't adjust well to unfamiliar surroundings.

Yes, all of that makes me crazy. I work in sales on the phone, so I ALWAYS feel the CMs' pain when I call and do not book. I take up their time that could be spent helping someone who is ready to book and is not waiting for a promotion. (I could hear the disappointment in my CM's voice when she answered my question about FD. She knew that that call was not going anywhere, though she did try to get me to book.) And then Disney makes it worse, IMO, by encouraging, both implicitly and explicitly, you to book and then call AGAIN to change when promotions come out. But it's the CMs who have to deal directly with an anxious, frustrated caller who has been on hold for two hours hoping to book a dream vacation.

At least I have the amusement of wondering about whatever is going down at Air Canada. It doesn't seem like the text we saw was a mistake, in that it clearly stated that the booking would not begin until April 25. So did Disney ask them to take it down? Has it affected bookings in the past 24 hours (including changes and cancellations)? Will it affect the offer that finally drops?

Nope, the reverse. I remember thinking that it was like they wanted to punish people for booking Values for FD, even though some of them pony up for the DDP.

So it is 3 day for value resorts and 2 days for mod and deluxe on the park tickets?
