2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Second and third dumb question.

Can I use the sampler tabs at places in the actual countries like La Cava in Mexico?

Can I pay for the Sampler plan using a gift card?

We also visited the Chase lounge. It was any Chase to get in but they did make us show a Disney chase to get Eat To The Beat Wristbands. We did not get any free alcohol, but lots of free soda and coffee.

Thank you so much for your post. Your photos and descriptions are excellent and helpful. :)

There are ETB tickets available in the Chase lounge. Yay! Glad that is confirmed. Do you know any details about it? Are the tickets good for any of that day's shows? Or are they for one specific show?

No, you cannot use the tabs anywhere except the "Global Marketplaces". Yes, you should be able to pay for the sampler using a gift card. I haven't seen any reports of this yet but I am 99.9% certain I paid for mine with a gift card over the phone last year.

Could someone who is there please tell me the price for the Joffrey's specialty drinks like the Tiki Torch? Also, if all the cocktails are the same as regular price if you order them non-alcoholic? Thank you in advance!

I'm pretty sure the majority of the F&W cocktails are pre-made in another area so I don't think you'd be able to get them non-alcoholic. As I recall, I think China is the only place that adds the liquor to the drink right at the booth so maybe you can get something there. I think last year there were a few booths that specifically offered some of their drinks as non-alcoholic on the menu so seek those out.

oh really?! bummer!! We would choose those over the alcoholic ones bc they were cheaper !
I hope I'm wrong about that, but I used the list put out by DFB some time ago, dumped that into Excel (as I do with everything!!) and labeled alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks -- we're always looking out for some cool drink options for the kids while we're there. Very few options... :(

Eh - there have been a variety of kiosks over the years that aren't single countries, like Patagonia, Farm Fresh, Caribbean, Scandinavia, Hawaii, Brewer's Collection, Florida Local, etc.

I know but Africa isn't a region, it's a continent (yes I know Australia is a continent too, but it's also a single country). All of the booths except Africa represent a single type of cuisine. The food is wildly different between Libya, Ethiopia, and Zambia. Nobody would stand for an "Asia" or "Europe" booth.

Can someone tell me where you go to purchase the sampler vouchers? Also I read the exclusions on the back of the vouchers but does it also exclude food and alcohol for the non country kiosks located in WS? For example Wine and Dine Studio, Refreshment Port and Coolpost, and the Joffery's locations?

What is the alternative? A booth for every African nation? Or eliminate the booth altogether? There are amazing examples of cuisine from different regions of Africa every day of the year at AK and AKL. I think this criticism is a bit over the top -- JMHO.

On the WDW website, they say you can buy them at:
  • The Festival Center
  • Bridge Kiosk East
  • Bridge Kiosk West
  • Canada Festival Emporium
  • Festival Boutique Kiosk (located between the Japan Pavilion and the Morocco Pavilion)

I hate to be negative, but I am genuinely disappointed in the "Brewer's Collection" menu. Three beers, seriously?

With all the popular microbrewing companies out there, 3 beers are all they could get for this year's festival? Examples: Boulevard in KC. Blue Point in Long Island. Long Trail in Vermont. Disney couldn't get one or two breweries like these to participate?

Three beers is hardly a "collection." Shame on the organizers for not offering more.

What are the size of the beer and wine pours this year? Sorry if someone has mentioned it and I missed it!

Yeah - it seems to get worse and worse every year...bad enough you can only get the baby size beers,, but now there is far less selection as well.
I do wonder why I am even bothering - if I were not going to HHN at Universal I would not even bother doing F&W anymore.

Luckily there are better options - the beer cart in Germany, Block and Hand in the US, the have a 20oz beer in Norway - I forget which one - but it is decent.

Also the Wave had a very nice selection of beers as well.

I do find it interesting that they have limed the beers to these small ones, but are selling mixed drinks all over all the parks (expect MK of course)

Vodka martini gelato, all sorts of floats...but I can get a decent size beer at the variouse stand because I might drink too much? Seems like those sweet drinks are more dangerous

Well, since Disney knows how to make money (!!), I'd assume it's because these days there's greater demand for mixed drinks over beer. Seems logical.

I doubt it has anything to do with trying to limit people's consumption.

From what I recall it was all about limiting the over drinking that supposedly happens in Epcot on the weekends - of course with everything at Disney it is most likely also a Money Grab.

As for more people drinking the mixed drinks than beer - I do doubt that - the mixed drinks are just a new revenue stream - I am fine with that and look forward to trying one or two - wish they had some poutine for sale around world showcase to go with it ;)

Yes they sell a lot of those slushes in France - but you will see far more people walking around with beers - and drinking multiple beers throughout the day than you will the mixed drinks IMO

Offering a different perspective... by my count, there are about 31 different beers if you total up offerings at all booths. Seems like a pretty good selection overall to me.

Now HERE is something we can definitely agree on... preferably the poutine would look like this: :thumbsup2 ;)
