2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Hey guys. Saw a lot of talk about a map with the both locations. I found a few unofficial Apps that are awesome! They're interactive. They have a map with your location on it and all the booths' locations in addition to the offerings at each. You can also mark the ones you want to try & which are your favorites. I've been having fun playing around with it. Don't know if they've updated them all to be 100% accurate since F&WF just started today but I don't go for another 45 days so I've got time for them to get them to 100%. Just thought I'd share. Happy drooling to all of us still waiting to get there!

Just checking in to say I like your avatar. Tough loss today but at least the Cards lost. We can only hope for the best over the next two weeks!

Berbere-style beef tenderloin tips with onions, jalapeños, tomato, and pap from Africa (because that's apparently a single country). $5.50. I asked the chef which I should get of this or the buttered chicken and every employee chimed in that I should get the beef. It was a larger portion than it looks in the picture. I liked the spice of the sauce and beef, but again one of the pieces had a giant chunk of gristle/maybe a bone? It's dark now, but it definitely wasn't something I should try to chew. Other than that, not bad.

Black pepper shrimp with garlic noodles from China. $5.50. Also a large portion. Super flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. This is so far my second favorite dish after the beef skewer.

Since I haven't yet seen it, here's a picture of the sampler restrictions, courtesy of Josh at easywdw, via Twitter. Note, he stated the beer samplers should not have been able to be purchased with one of the entitlements. View attachment 194664
I see that the artist palette of wine and cheese is excluded, yet on disneyfoodblog they have it listed as snack credit eligible with the photo of the menu to prove it. Wonder how long it will take them to change that. Surprised not just because of the price but the inclusion of alcohol. No way it will make it until we get there in November:rotfl:

Could someone who is there please tell me the price for the Joffrey's specialty drinks like the Tiki Torch? Also, if all the cocktails are the same as regular price if you order them non-alcoholic? Thank you in advance!

I know it's the first day, so there may not have been too many people on DDP in attendance. But I'm on the lookout for confirmation of the QS to 3 snack conversion for this year. We tried it opening day last year at a few booths and got strange looks so we gave up on it.

Empanada from Pagtagonia booth

I wasn't really hungry since I had A food and wine pairing meal at Spice Road Tables that ended around 3 but it was 7 and I knew I needed to eat something and I was bound and determined to at least get one booth in today. Tomorrow will be all booths for me.

May I ask if you went to the Mediterranean food & wine pairing? We're doing that later this month, and I'd love to hear thoughts/review on it if that's what you attended.

Snack credit eligible and sampler eligible are NOT the same thing. Snack credit refers to DDP Snack credits.

We went today and used a QS credit for 3 items with no problem. We did it in France and China at the booths.

After being disappointed by no preview day yesterday, we rushed through our Animal Kingdom day and made it to F&W today around 2pm.
Here is what I remembered to take pictures of:
image.jpeg
Black Pepper Shrimp with Garlic Noodles (missing 2 shrimps)
My favorite item. The shrimp were very good but I loved the noodles. Plus, it was a big portion. We also got the duck and the spicy chicken from China using 1 Quick Service credit. The duck was enjoyable. The spicy chicken was a small portion and a bit hard to chew but a decent flavor.

Terrible photo because it is half eaten already- but the Korean style BBQ beef w/ cucumber kimchi was fabulous! So much flavor. My second favorite (maybe tied for first actually)

We also used a QS credit for these 3 items in France. The Escargot was flavorful and we loved the croissant this year. The Beef was good but the mashed potatoes were average. I did not care for the French onion soup (too mush salt maybe?)
image.jpeg
This is the heirloom tomato salad with goat cheese. It was good by maybe not special enough? I probably wouldn't get it again.
image.jpeg
Spicy roll from Japan. The sauce was really good.

And this is the pork with cannelloni beans from Wine & Dine studio. The meat was good but the rest of the flavors didn't stand out to me.

We also visited the Chase lounge. It was any Chase to get in but they did make us show a Disney chase to get Eat To The Beat Wristbands. We did not get any free alcohol, but lots of free soda and coffee.

I'm not surprised the flights were excluded
Agreed, but does anyone know what the price of a flight is this year - I mean it is only 3 beers so I could see them taking it.

I guess I'll be trying it and worst case I have to pay OOP for the beer..im sure I can drink 16 mixed drinks over 6 days

How was the empanada?

I understand the difference- just curious that such an expensive item that includes alcohol would be included as a DDP snack credit but excluded from the lanyards. There are some pretty expensive drinks that seem to be included on the sampler package. Wondering if it's a fluke that it has a DDP snack logo next to it or if it will last the whole festival.

I was looking for those too- from various websites I found: Kahlua-tini 8.49, Tiki Torch $8.49, Spiked Chai Latte $9.05- all I'm missing is the frozen strawberry & lemonade with Grey Goose
