2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Anyone going to the Yelloween Masquerade editions of PFTS? Whatcha planning on wearing? My husband and I aren't exactly the epitome of "stylish and charming" fashion-wise. I mean, I don't even know what the heck "charming" means vis a vis clothes, LOL. So, I would love to hear your plans! Thanks!

For those who have purchased Tasting Sampler in the past do you feel like it was worth the $. I've only done F&W once two years ago & can't remember prices of items we bought. I'm thinking 8 items for $69 equals $7.37 per item, if used wisely can save you some $. Opinions? Are there many exclusions?

You have to go for the higher priced stuff, mostly drinks. Unless you value the pin, which I did like. I mean I did keep the pin, so it's worth a couple bucks.
Fwiw, I enjoyed the drinks & kinda splurged on them, wouldn't have bought them otherwise.

Joining in this thread - 69 days here! My DSIL and I will be attending the last 5 days of F&W. This will be my 3rd year in a row at F&W. If any new folks need some info/help, my TRs are in my signature from the past 2 years. I also am a complete dork and have a tracking spreadsheet in my signature, as well. I have a terrible memory for details, so I have a tendency to over-document. :tilt:

I love your tracker spreadsheet! It just makes me happy!

60 days for us! Can't wait to see the merch!

I need some advice from experienced people. We're staying at SOG, across the street from the Poly. For the first time ever they're having the Parisian Breakfast while we're there! I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to the breakfast with my mom who's a very slow walker. Do the boats from the Poly go to the International Gateway early in the morning? Is that the best way for the shortest walk? Any advice is welcome!

You will need to get to the TTC. You can get the monorail to Epcot from there. I don't know if the monorail schedule has any refurbs or downs during your time though. Does SOG have bus transport to Epcot? If so, you are better off just taking that, unless you think the buses won't start early enough for the breakfast. The waterways near Magic Kingdom don't connect with the waterways near Epcot. Buses and monorails will drop you off at the front though, not the International Gateway. Getting to the International Gateway would be pretty difficult from anywhere but the Epcot resorts or Hollywood Studios.

I would take an Uber or taxi to the Beach Club. The walk from there to the International Gateway and then to France, the first country on the right, is about 10 minutes for the average walker. I do believe that is the least amount of walking to the restaurant.

How do I find your tracking spreadsheet?
I went to your signature but was not able to view anything.
Can you please send your TRs again?

Do Magic Bands work as payment for the booths? Also, is the Premium Package available this year? If not, is there shaded seating?

Yes, you can use magic bands for payment. But only if you are staying on property and have added a credit/debit card when you checked in.

No premium packages this year. And probably very little if any shaded seating. But we won't know for sure until the event begins.

Magic bands = yes but sometimes it goes down so it's worth having an alternate payment method handy.

Premium package = apparently not, which is a shame as we were looking forward to it.

Shaded seating = I'm not sure. Someone else?

I've heard that you cannot use a Disney gift card to purchase a F&W gift card.
Ok so take this for what its worth. I was just on the phone with Disney and the CM (who didn't know for sure and put me on hold to find out o_O), he came back and said, and I quote....

"I have some good news for you.......you CAN purchase a Food & Wine gift card with a regular Disney gift card"

We all know what a phone CM says can be..........how do I put it........................less than reliable. I gonna try and be positive here...............and also have a backup plan:-)

We are on the 29th and I asked something similar on the main dining board and got *crickets*. :listen:

I was thinking off dressing accordingly but I don't want to be the only ones. I was thinking of wearing a cute, yellow sundress with a black belt and my husband would wear black dress pants/shorts with a black & yellow collard shirt of some kind. We even talked about getting masquerade masks but again, we don't want to be the only ones. So I guess we'll just dress in those outfits & bring along the masks in a bag & scan the room before donning them or not. Hopefully more people will post about this before hand.

I tried to last year and wasn't able to buy a food and wine card with a regular Disney gift card.

Not trying to be negative, but just sharing my personal experience that I have never been able to use a Disney gift card to buy another Disney gift card (i.e.: Food & Wine gift card). They have always informed me that it is not allowed and I have always had to use other forms of payment, like a debit card, cash, or credit card. I think you can use a Visa or MasterCard gift card, though. I've gone to Food & Wine almost yearly and that's always been my experience.

I went shopping today and re-discovered something about myself. I cannot wear yellow! So, I think I am wearing a black jumpsuit, with a sheer fringed black kimono jacket that has yellow and pink flowers. Gold jewelry and shoes (that is yellowish, right? :) ) Husband will wear yellow shirt and black pants. I thought about masks too - would love to see someone wearing them!

I am so excited...PFTS has been my dream for many years!

First, let me say I love your board name :D

I don't disagree with you..........I called and the CM put me on hold for 5 min. I'm going to have a credit card available just in case. Can't know for sure unless you try........:-)
