I don't trust Disney's IT at all. I don't want to have to keep all those receipts to reconcile to make sure the Tragic Band worked right so I use the gift cards or cash

That is why we do the gift cards as we don't want to reconcile all of the F&W purchases receipts to the room invoice from the magic band charges.

Two years ago someone gave me a suggestion that worked great even if it's a little strange


You get a few minutes before the general admission. Grab a few plates, sit back and watch the running of the Bulls. Then go get desert. Yes desert. If you wait until the end of the evening the lines are long and you may be too full to enjoy them. So have a "first" desert while everyone is crowding food. By the time you finish the initial rush is over and all the lines are much shorter

For the GCs, can't you just buy a F&W GC with a minimum amount on it and then transfer your balance from another GC to it via the giftcard website?

I have not had a single error in billing with MB since inception, and we've been on 2-3 trips a year since then.

Disney IT is far from stellar overall, and I have not been a fan, but I don't worry about this aspect AT ALL.

I understand not being concerned with receipts when paying with cash. But it seems that any problem that could occur when paying by magic bands could also occur with gift cards. So reconciling purchases with a gift card would still require tracking receipts.

I agree. In any event, how could an MB "not work right?" It works or it doesn't. If it doesn't work, you know immediately. It's not possible for it to charge a different amount than what's shown.

The situation provided another opportunity for the poster to try to be clever by repeatedly typing "Tragic Band." What's really tragic is that nobody else finds this clever or amusing, and instead roll their eyes whenever it pops up.....which it does over and over again.

Better in theory than execution, but I do like it...it is less sugary than many of the other frozen drinks.

How to buy a gift card with a gift card... If you're staying on property, purchase a F&WF gift card with your magic band and then apply your regular gift card to your account at the front desk. How I did it my last two trips.

This is more or less what I was going to eventually ask if someone said you can buy the gift card with your magicband, lol.

I could be wrong but I thought I remember several pages back people reporting that you could NOT buy a GC with a magic band. Someone else even reported that they saw someone try it last year and they could not do it.

It tasted exactly like an apple pie . I thought it was very good but a little too sweet for me.

Last year I could not use my MB to buy a F&W GC even though my CC was attached to my MB. I had to pay cash or use my Credit or Debit card.

I tried this last year because it looked so cool and the hibiscus is edible. BLAH I hated it I took one drink and threw it in the trash (tasted like a bandaid, no I don't eat bandaids lol) This was even after asking a CM who also said that, based on other guest reviews, don't waste a ticket on the drink. (I had a sampler package). I should have listened and saved 3 tickets. Mine, my son and my niece. All 3 hit the trash. Of course this is just our opinion someone may have liked it.

I thought it was delicious and had a few throughout the festival That said, I typically like Mezcal as well as edible flowers.
