2016 Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

I have a ladies' appointment in early May, so I figure I'll submit one of my runDisney races once I get that note signed and submitted as well.

Now hopefully I don't forget!

Just booked my flights. Found a swell price from Toronto. Hotel for the DLP portion of the trip is set. It all feels rather real now.
YAY for flights out of YYZ.

I've finally found the thread - Was able to register for the DLP 5K and 1/2 when they released addition bib-only back in Feb.

Hoping to get a chance to race - it's a busy time of year - so I'll wait to book flights.
Currently training for the DLR Dumbo Dare.

The Dopey Challenge popped my cherry - and now I'm enthralled that I found out about rD... and Disney Parks (okok, I know, I'm late to the game)

Hopefully I'll be able to complete the C2C and Chateau2Castle medals too!

Happy training everyone!

Got flights and hotel set for week before in Paris - lots of art and dining to enjoy before we head over to DLP for the 5k and half. We're planning to stop in Florida on the way back to California so we can enjoy the DVC nighttime safari on 11/27.

Nice to see others being Dopey earlier this year - It's a year of challenges for us with C2C, Castaway and Rebel done, Dark Side and Kessel in two and a half weeks, Dumbo and Chateau in Sept and Lumiere in Nov.

Lots of training as it is a busy April as we're doing Hollywood Half marathon 5th anniversary in 10 days after catching the opening day of WWoHP in USH (was at US IoA WWoHP opening in 2010), then the Dark Side and back to California for another half the last weekend in April. Now if only Shanghai Disneyland would have a half and/or challenge...

Keep up the great training everyone!

Oh no!!!!! I just called DVC member services and they went from "No rooms yet" least week, to "All sold out"! What am I going to do? Anyone have any suggestions for hotel rooms that are not £691.00 a night?

We are staying at this one

Hope that link works. It's in French but there are English versions of the site, but it's all I could pull up quickly on my mobile

It's one of the partner hotels, quite reasonable, very close. I've not stayed but gets good write ups.

Check Expedia.com or bookings.com

First run disney race. First half marathon. Longest I have ran (barely) is 10k three years ago and an obstacle 5k last year. Managed to rope in my best friend (does ultra marathons i.e. insane) to keep me company. Unfortunately (for me) she is in Zambia for the next three months so I am training on my own.

Going to stay off-site but having to come in Saturday morning and leave Sunday night as I am a teacher and term has started. At the moment averaging just under the 16 min cut off but just keep telling myself that I have enough time to improve that.

Hi guys,

I'm late in signing up, Honestly thought this would be all sold out. Was a last minute decision. Went with get travel to book the whole shabang registration, hotel and tickets. So, it seems that eventually rundisney will contact me with a link to finish my registration? anybody else book their whole package with get travel ? thanks for the help

I have booked race packages (room & registration) with GET for Disneyland runDisney events in the past and that is how it worked for me.

Anyone know the deadline for finishing your registration? I know the medical certificate (and proof of time) should be uploade before June 1st, I was thinking about e.g. t-shirt size. I'm currently on a diet and training for the half, so at race time I'm probably 1 or 2 sizes smaller than now. So do you know how late I can change my t-shirt size? Thanks!

No clue about your last question maybe you shoul directly send an email to rundisney ? They answer quite quickly.

And to follow what chelynnah says, the partners hotels are great. You have buses that lead you to the parks.

I booked my package through Magical Marathon, it was one of the recommended UK travel partners. Can't wait!!! I'm hoping to do the GSC next year too :)

All Forms officially cleared! Hotels Booked.
In an email - they mentioned that I didn't really need to bring the medical certificate in person - but I'm just going to bring it along with the Waiver (in case).

ALSO --> I saw on the other thread and on the official website that an additional amount of bib-only will be released Aug 23.
Buy a race bib only (i.e. without a stay):
The maximum number of participants in this sales has been reached. A very limited quota of bibs only to be released on August 23rd, 2016 (Subject to change without notification)*

Monitoring Flights and debating what type of ticket I'd like to purchase....
Would they apply 1 - 2 day tickets to an annual pass (I believe they will - up to 31 days after your purchase date, and would you be able to be sponsored as well?)

Does anyone have the link to provide proof of time? The site says that it will be provided by October 13, 2015. :confused3

I received a specific login, with username and password, to access the site to enter all of the info .... including proof of time, medical certificate and such.

But I went through a TA .... ????

I did not go through a Travel Agency/Partner and also received a link with a specific username and password to upload my proof of time and med certificate.

Thanks!!! Duh, I just filled out that form for the Castle to Chateau challenge. I added my time for a 2:15 anticipated finish. I know it says proof must be from a 1:30 time but are they seriously going to put everyone who can't run a 1:30 half in the last corral? That is going to be a HUGE corral!

No, I've read somewhere that there would be several corrals. I think what that means is if you claim you can do 1:30 but then don't provide the proof of that in time, then you will automatically be put in the last corral since the others will already be assigned.

Medical Certificate and Dark Side Half Certificate (for Chateau to Castle) accepted, and I officially got my "you are registered!" email this morning! This is becoming more real every day! I keep reminding my friends they need to get their stuff uploaded, too, especially that medical certificate.

We've been busy planning the rest of our vacation - we're starting at DLP, and then moving onto to Paris after the race, then will be taking the train south to Marseille, along the coast through Monaco to Genoa, and then back to Paris via Milan. And then, since we're flying Icelandic Air, we're doing a stopover for 2 nights in Iceland! :D I haven't taken this long of a vacation (17 days!) in years, and I'm sooooo excited!
