2015 Villain’s Sinister Soiree

So with the five day cancellation policy- you can cancel up to 5 days BEFORE your event correct? If so, that'll give plenty of time for reviews to come out regarding logistics etc.

Exactly our thoughts, too!

Yes, you can cancel up to 5 days before for a full refund. Inside of 5 days you're charged the whole amount, not just $10 a person.

It was $30 more, per adult.

The reviews were not great, either. I know some people loved it, but there were at least a pretty equal number who hated it, too.

That's what I was thinking- there are lots of reviews out there from people who thought the soiree was a total waste of money. I guess it's all relative.

I hope it's a similar situation this year. Having to wait 2.5 hours for the parade to start defeats the purpose of the benefits to purchasing the dessert package!

The problem with this location is that its going to be very hard to get to the closer the time is to parade start. Remember, people line Main Street starting at 5pm on a party day, claiming their parade seating. If you are in the back of the park and try to make your way up to town square at 8:30, you are going to be a salmon swimming upstream through a sea of bears. The only option, really, around that time is to try to enter through the Tomorrowland side, cut through all of the stores, and then "sorry, excuse me" your way through the crowd in the square, and hope there are CM's to escort you through the street.

The bypass might be open, too, which would get you right there.

If you're in the hub by 8 PM, and heading down main street, you'll likely make it by 8:30. We've done it, during the night time parades (including this one), before. Yes, you'll have to "sorry, excuse me" your way down the street, but it's more than possible.

Yes, if people have to wait for an hour to see the parade, I am out! I can do that on my own for free! LOL

We've NEVER had luck finding a good spot for the parade an hour before (at, say, 8:00 PM in the center hub).

But we're always a party of 5, and this time a party of 6, so it can be dicey finding spots, in general.

Well, this is sad compared to last year :/ I had one of those desert parties with fireworks viewing once in same spot and it was insane trying to get a view because you were not allowed ot move chairs over to the sides but people would ignore that so you'd have a nice view and then someone would be shoved in front of you because they tried to sneak in with a chair.

I think I waited on Main Street for 2 hours last year for MVMCP. We are a party of 3. This year I am less picky about being directly up in front. In all of the regular parades, the characters really engaged with my daughter. They didn't for the Christmas parade. So if we can show up 30 minutes before the parade starts for the dessert party reserved seating and just be able to get a good view of the parade, I am happy. I don't care about being front row.

Called back, she was missing a letter in my email, it is there now. :goodvibes

I booked it since I'll have a 3 yr old, think it may help us since I originally was thinking the later parade, but then they pushed it back. If he is wide awake after fireworks, then off to rides! :thumbsup2.

So, reading everyone's posts, will we still see the headless horseman? I've never been to MNSSHP, so want to be sure to see him!

Count me as last years was awesome.. booked this one but still on the fence and IMHO will never equal last years which was worth the extra $$

I caved I booked for 9/13. The 9/18 was
Unavailable for a Party of 2. I'm bummed no characters but I can't let anything pass me by completely. I'll use it for the parade viewing . We will just hang at the front for the party. See Alice characters at 7 (if thery are there by teacups like last year) ..then see Mickey (if time) then the parade.

No, but then you are just paying $69 for chocolate covered strawberries and cupcakes, with no other benefits.

Agree it's not a good deal if the fireworks and/or parade cancel and you just get the desserts but wanted to point out to folks that the event itself won't cancel and that's what you'll be paying for in case of bad weather.

Glad I opened this thread as I had no idea this was even going on. I'm not one to pay the high prices Disney likes to throw at us but I guess we all have our breaking point. I'm considering this one for a few reasons.

*Have never got to do WISHES Dessert Party and would love to. This seems similar.
*The other 2 people going with me have never been to DW and its my understanding crowds have increased dramatically since my last trip in 2009. Having predefined viewing spots might get us a better view.

We watched the parade from near Pecos Bills in 2009 and had no problems arriving about 20 mins early to get a spot at the rope. Doesn't sound like thats possible anymore.

I just booked the Wishes Dessert party as well. I have to admit that I am disappointed that the Soiree wasn't offered this year. Last year's event was spectacular for the money. You were in front of the castle in a roped off area for both the fireworks and the parade and had a reserved seat inside the castle for your desserts. I hope to read good reviews about this year's events or I will be cancelling our reservation. Either way, we are all going to be at the most MAGICAL place on earth for the Halloween party. Life is good!! Have fun everyone rather you are doing the dessert party or not. I am excited just thinking about the park at night with the glowing pumpkins!!!

I guess this means the FP+ areas will be left open.

If you're talking about the Wishes FP viewing areas, then it appears so. I'm curious to see if they just open them up to everyone. It just seems so un Disney like to give away something they could leverage.

The reserved parade viewing area for the party should be the FP+ area, right in front of the castle stage. It was last year.

Parade FP viewing is in the Town Square Hub by the flag pole now. And the description of this event says that's where it will be as well.

It is possible. We have been to two Halloween Party's (2012,2014) on Halloween itself and got a spot at the rope for the second parade.

I just booked it. We dropped the Wishes Dessert party we had on 9/14 and scheduled this one instead. The phone CM I spoke with said that this was only bookable on the phone (wrong) and that it couldn't be linked to MDE (wrong - it showed up in MDE while I was on the phone with her). I'm betting you can check in and get your pass at 7:30, and then do whatever you want until around 8ish and come back for the parade. If the parade route isn't heavy, we may just skip the reserved viewing area and just use the dessert party portion.
