2015 Military Salute Announcement

Disney announced the 2015 military salute program renewal a few minutes ago. All room discounts remain the same and the 4 day salute park hopper is $177. Way to go Disney!!

Tons of people booked for OCT-DEC hoping they would renew.....

there will be limited availability for those times and people will complain...

some resorts will have no availability and people will complain.....

Little Mermaid will have no availability and people will complain.....

We use this every year - it's a great program! The complaining every year just kills me though.....

I hear you. Many have booked their packages and think they will change it to the military discount. But it has to be there as a separate package. They just don't change the one they have booked already. This fall into the end of Dec will be hard unless people are flexible.

I was lucky as I booked last Dec 2013 with a 35% discount so I made out okay. But I was lucky as they did have an opening at the BWI same time same room. I saved another $275.

I booked the 2015 so I got what I wanted. I have no complaints

I completely agree, it is a great program. We were booked at POR through a TA and they had no standard rooms in the program when I called today about a discount. However, I was able to get into CSR for $200 less for a 9 night stay with the mil rate. I hope that people understand that they do not have to give the discount, but they do, so flexibility is a big help in getting the best possible rate.

I won't complain because there are plenty of companies (and people) who could care less what we do as soldiers or veterans and I am just thankful that a company like Disney makes it possible for us to enjoy the park every year.

This is true. 2015 rates aren't released until 7/30.

You may have gotten a CM that was not aware that they are available to book immediately. We booked ours with the military rate earlier today. The 2015 rates are available to book as well.

You can book a room only with the 2015 Military Salute, but if you want to add dining you have to wait until the 30th.

Added the discount to my room only today and was asked if I wanted to add dining so it seems like maybe the cm you get May or May not help you out

Wish there was a way to get more then 4 day tix though, we are going for 9 days and it's cheaper to buy a direct tic vs even two sets of mil discount tix

I had no problems booking today. I was able to change my room this December ( I had a previous bounce back) she was able to change this to 40% instead of 35%. Able to make three for 2015. All rooms only. She did have problems but she said there was a way to do this and she did it. I assume she wasn't new like some are that some on here are dealing with. As I did ask did I have to call back for next year later this month? She said no that she could book it now. She also asked if I want the dining plan with all of the trips. Which I did not.

I think some of the CM are overwhelm with all the calls. This confusion with being new to this. I got lucky and got someone who knew what she was doing. Took me 3 minutes to get to a live person and maybe another 45 minutes making the new trips.

I've called 2 times today - probably now labeled as "do not answer this number"...

First time calling, I had the CM adjust my reservation to include the military discount from 9/27 - 10/4. The agent had to split the reservation into 2 parts - the old military discount wasn't available any more for 9/27 so that went onto it's own one night reservation "rack rate" with the fall promotion so ends up being 25% off. The second reservation is now from 9/28 - 10/4 - which has the military rate for POR equaling 35% discount. With the second reservation (9/28 - 10/4), I was able to keep the dining plan and memory maker added with the military room rate discount.

The second time I called, I asked the CM to make sure the mil rate wasn't available for 9/27. She confirmed not available. I also asked her if adding the dining plan affected the military room rate - she said that it didn't. She said each was independent - they just can't be stacked - so a free dining plan promo can't be added onto the military discount room rate.

Easy peasy this morning - besides the wait time.

So excited to get 7 nights over SWW for next June! Couldn't get DS his graduation wish for CR room with monorail access, though. Do they normally have only preferred/club level rooms available for the discount? We've used it for OKW and WL in the past. I think we had a woods view at WL. OKW was pricey, but loved the space in the 1BR villa. Not in the budget this year. Tough to be a family of 5

We had an existing ressie because we go to Food and Wine every year. If we didn't get the new military discount there was the possibility of a FL one later on. When I called at 10 after noon yesterday our late Oct reservation dates would not work so we changed to Nov. 4-7 because we are flexible. If no discount was offered we would have kept out Oct. dates without complaint.

We are grateful that Disney does offer what they do for our military community.

At least you got a resort even if you had to be flexible with dates. This is what happen to us in 2013. The dates we had booked, no military discount but the CM said can we look at different dates and it worked.

You have to be flexible as they won't give you a discount on a package if none is in your type of room or resort.

To the one poster who wanted the CR resort club level. You can get the military discount, maybe there were no rooms there for your dates.
