Just saw on the DVC website, under Member Experiences, click on Exclusive Member Cruises!

They will have 2 Member cruises:

Alaska 7-night May 25 to June 1st 2015, and a Bahamas 4-night August 24-28!

Booking Available June 22nd!

I was briefly excited to see an Alaskan cruise included. We're hoping to take a long Member Cruise in 2016. But then I remembered that the Wonder is going in for it's "reimagineering" in 2016, so Alaska is probably off the table for that year.

We'd have done it this year if we weren't going to be getting off the boat the month previous (and if we didn't have to pay cash all up front).

The Disney Wonder won't be re-imagineered until the new Panama Canal locks are open. That's currently projected to be Dec 2015, but still could be delayed.

Once they add the 'duck tail' to the Wonder (like they did to the Magic), she will not fit in the existing Panama Canal locks.

thanks for the heads up, I will go look at the member website, I am interested in May 25 to Alaska, thanks again.

I so want to do the Alaskan but we already have it booked for the last sailing that year (Aug 31) and the Member Cruise is more than double what we are paying. Just not worth it for us, unfortunately.

They would probably do the drydock in the Fall of 2016, if they do it all that year. As erionm said, they are waiting until the Panama Canal locks are finished. Even with a full Alaska season in 2016, however, there is no guarantee that there would be another Alaskan member cruise. A lot will depend on how well this one sells.

Are we able to see how many points we need for a particular cruise or do we need to call for that information?
Thanks.

I have the points chart up.
I see it is per person, which I get.
But, is it per night? Thanks.

Now, if I see a cruise that I like and I wanted to book with my points, I need to call DCL and see if that is possible since point bookings fill up.
Is that correct?
Thank you.

You have to call DVC to book using your points.

So do you call dcl to book these cruises if paying cash?

Are you talking about the Member Cruses? They must be booked through MS, and only on the specified day that booking begins, or afterwards if there is room. They can only be booked through Member Services whether you are paying cash or points.

The Member Cruises can only be booked through DVC (regardless of payment method).
If you want to book any other DCL cruise on cash only, call DCL or your TA.
If you want to book any other DCL cruise on points, call DVC.

Thanks for the info. I saw a post saying if you are booking with points you must call MS, so it made me think. So you have to call and book the Members' cruise through Member Services regardless of how you're paying. I guess I was secretly hoping to avoid calling MS....which is never easy. It would be easier to just book online via the DVC site....maybe one day. Still haven't decided yet.

probably a dumb question but do you need to pay in full if doing some points and some cash? Is it really double compared to the other Alaskan sailings?
thanks
