2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

So we wanted CBR, but that didn't work. We didn't want to move to pirate rooms. Our choice right now is to upgrade to AKL and it's SO much more expensive  Is staying at a deluxe and paying roughly 1400.00 more really worth "free dining" at this point? I really need advice! I feel like we are not really getting any good deal at all....bummer. Our other option is just to go another week with no free dining, and just pay OOP for a few meals during our stay. What would you do??

I would choose a value! Save money and upgrade your dining:))

I called and the rep was amazing..

She said.. "Sweetie If I were you I wouldn't worry about the Free Dining. Let's get you a MYW Room Only + Paid Standard Dining because you have an AP.. Which hotel do you want"
Me: POR
Her "POR it is, ok your total for 4 nights is 945.. That looks much better than 1485 for Free Dining now doesn't it."
Me: "Are you married?"

LoL anyhow I got a little bit of pixie dust and opened up a CSR standard for one of you hopefully.

OMG, that's crazy! Oh they are goooood... :D Congrats!

I got online right when the promo came out (I think?) at 4:30am and it didn't show anything available at POP but the Premium Pool rooms. There was never an option for standard for my dates.

From what others are posting you aren't alone in that regard. I didn't get online until 6:45am and was able to book a standard room at Pop but my dates are early September. It seems to be luck of the draw as to what's available and when. I've stayed at every All Star resort and Pop many times. You can't go wrong with any of them.

right, but securing a room now would mean that I would have to change my current reservations from Port Orleans Riverside to another hotel and we really love Port Orleans. We are going the last week in October and I don't believe that is included in the free dining so we would have to move to another resort. The only other resort I would consider is Caribbean beach but it sounds like they are all booked up as well. this is my first experience with all of this and it's insane!

Correct, you would have to change resorts to secure something now. Some people want to stay at a particular resort, even if they don't have a discount. Others will follow the discount and don't care what resort they are at. So, you would have to figure out which category you fall under!

still no word from my TA. We are changing our dates to OCt 31-nov 6 at POP..I am so worried. But do you think if we wait something may come open?

I have talked to mine and they are having the same problems as everyone else. She has been trying all morning. I am so nervous I am getting nothing done at work. Hopefully we both will hear good news soon.

I had 3 garden view rooms booked at the Beach Resort. I could not get free dining for that room type so I upgraded the 3 rooms to pool view and got free dining. I checked online and it shows 2 rooms as pool view with free dining but the 3rd room shows garden view with paid dining but the price is for the pool view room with free dining. I can't get thru to Disney again to check.

Well I booked a new reservation at POP for the same dates as my existing one (9/20-29). I'll straighten it out on the phone later, as MDE would not allow me to upgrade my dining plan or PH to include the water parks and more option. At least the main stress is over for now...I think...right?

Someone pass me a bag to breathe into...

I was wondering the same thing. If all the mods are sold out for the end of October, I'm not sure that the park levels could possibly be only a 2 or 3... :confused3
We've been during free dining times a few years and crowd levels are lower, but the restaurants seem more crowded than non free-dining times (we used to be able to walk up to a lot of table service restaurants and get right in during non free dining times). It comes down to the fact that people are going to Disney in what used to be off-season. So, it's always busy...there just aren't that many times of the year that have truly low crowds. I'm still spoiled by Fall trips we had in 2006-2010. It's just increased since then, but nothing like summer or Spring Break so I'm okay with it!

After 3 total hours of calling I finally got through. During my wait, I kept checking online to see if what I originally had booked was still available, and it was showing it wasn't. So those that are still on hold, don't get discouraged yet like I did.

I originally had POP Century, Preferred room for Sept 15-23. I had to add park hopper and I upgraded to the regular dining for an extra cost of $434.72. I am ok with that cuz after added up all my reservations I still make out

I booked AoA this morning for Nov 19-26. That means I get free dining the whole time....right? And I upgraded to the 1 table service. That doesn't HAVE to be used as a table service, right? I can use a QS instead of a table service?

My grand daughter (3) pushed the END button on my phone! After a 2 hour and 10 minute wait! Omg!

I think the website traffic may be dying down, it seems to be behaving more like normal now. I was able to configure a package at AS Sports all the way through the payment page a few minutes ago, something I haven't been able to do for the last 3 hours.

I'm in the same boat! Nothing getting done at work but I know my TA was working at 6 am this morning when we were messaging.
